Ladyhawk and Princess Bride are both great. The music in Ladyhawk is extremely dated, but the film itself still stands up well. Mathew Brodrick is basically playing Ferris Bueller, but that's not a bad thing. Princess Bride is just brilliant in every way.

Funny mate I thought exactly the same thing about the music in Ladyhawk but your right its still a great flick and I forgot how good The Princess Bride was.... I particularly love the sword fight between the two good guys and the dialogue between the two

SWAT is an action film which basically does exactly what it says on the tin by adding action upon action and for that alone you can't really fault the movie because they are delivered pretty well. The chemistry and dialogue between Sergant Hondo (Samuel L Jackson) and his main man Street (Colin Farrell) I also enjoyed and both actors do manage to keep your attention throughout. I did also laugh at seeing Michelle Rodriguez who played the female SWAT member Sanchez and shake my head at the irony of her playing a cop when I was only after doing a post about her being sent to prison in real life . Though she does play the tough female with attitude by the numbers and I did like her tight tank tops . The Bad guy and ex partner of Farrell 'Gamble' (Jeremy Renner) I wasn't so convinced about however... I could imagine him having no problem playing the bully in a college movie or something but to me he just didn't look right or to ever be able to convince me he could take Colin's character on and perhaps beat him in the end. I think it would have been better with a different actor maybe a more mature looking one . I did love many of the earlier scenes were they had to sneak into an area and handle a hostage situation most notably the training test on the plane but as I say this I also found this part of the
problem with the movie...it give us a load of these scenes at the beginning showing us varied training in fact the first half if not more of the movie is this then all of a sudden it changes and they become like escorts for some billionaire criminal who is offering millions to anyone who can break him out??. Personally I was disappointed with this change and I do believe the film would have been much better had it ended with like the ultimate Hostage situation that only the good guys could crack.....We could have had Gamble with a crew taking hostages himself knowing all the procedures the SWAT team use so that our heroes have to use different unconventional methods??.....
In fairness I was sort of expecting this as I do think the film builds it up from the beginning but for whatever reason changes direction to a path which even though was still entertaining enough it could have and should have been much better.
With that said I did enjoy the movie the acting was pretty good even from rapper LL Cool J who played Deke and I really think Larry Poindexter is born to play the asshole Captain type . Oh and speaking of Deke remember the beginning when he and is partner are chasing a suspect from a house and the wife fires a frying pan at the partner well she was
actually firing it at the Director Clark Johnson who was playing the part .
If you like action movies SWAT will more than likely float your boat but for me it slightly sunk and it seemed to be like two films in one only I didn't get to see the ending of the first and more interesting one
