Basically I'm very confused? Having been a guitar player for some years now after taking up the instrument in college and continuing to practise fairly regularly I can't help but think my touch has deserted me somewhat! I can read tabs and all that but just can't seem to coax the right sound out of the beast.....

Previously I'd thought I was doing alright but it seems ' Total Guitar' magazine has shown me to be wrong- I bought their Beatles special issue today and after spending some time with it trying to learn 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' I had to give up as it was so damn frustrating- I think even the free CD-ROM tutorial promising to teach the melodically inclined the riffs to 'Drive My Car', 'Help!', ' I Saw Her Standing There', 'Taxman' and 'Ticket To Ride' will have to be kept for another day as I just don't seem to be getting the results I feel I should. So the Fab Four can keep their 'most influential' crown for now.....

Ooh that's a great guitar riff on While My Guitar Gently Sleeps

I wish I could play guitar and give you some advice Morphy but I don't even know what a tab is!

Maybe you should get Rod's brother to give you advice...he's in a band!
