I finally finished reading this today and its probably one of the best sports books I've ever read! Written by Duncan Hamilton, a former Nottingham Evening Post sportswriter, its all about the ups and downs in Clough's life and career during his two spells as manager of Nottingham Forest as well as after his retirement from football. Admittedly I'd been expected one of those 'suck up' type things where the author heaps praise on their subject but this is a lot more rounded- alongside Clough's triumphs there's frank assessment of where and when he'd gone wrong at certain points. And it all leaves a somewhat enigmatic picture of the man they hailed as the best manager England never had.....
