He's winning awards so it looks as if he could win the Oscar too.

He's won a Golden Globe award for Supporting Actor.......I can never fathom out why someone wins a Supporting Actor/Actress Award when they're one of the main actors in a film |

I guess it gives actors or actresses more chance of winning an Oscar as there can be a main actor in a film with perhaps a smaller amount of airtime than another so I suppose I can understand it...I do think it would be strange to have Heath Ledger win the leading Actor award for The Dark Knight considering the Joker is not really the main role albeit when he does appear he steals the show
We must start throwing in some of the films up for the running for these awards so we can all make sure we have seen them all before judging _________________

| What you said rings a bell Luc.....I vaguely remember reading something a while ago about studios nominating actors in both Best and Supporting categories so they stand a better chance of winning an award! I'd have thought the Supporting Actor/Actress award should go to someone further down the cast list......someone who isn't one of the main stars but gives a great standout performance. Didn't George Clooney win the Supporting Actor Oscar for Syriana? I thought that was strange, considering he's the star of the film! |

Yep I suppose you have a point...smaller actors could be missing out
there should be a Best Extra Award shouldn't there? _________________
