So, what did everybody think of yesterday's Dr Who festive special? I thought it was OK but a bit far fetched in places- I liked the whole 'another Doctor' thing and the explanation as to how Jackson Lake came to think he was a Time Lord. Miss Hartigan was a bit of an odd villain though- I couldn't really understand why she'd allied herself to the Cybermen, and she wasn't nearly as menacing as I expected, it seemed she was just some kind of submissive tool for her robotic masters to use, as they did when they made her into the CyberKing ( again not what I expected, I thought they'd convert her into an uber Cyberman or somethng but she was just the brain to power their giant transport!)

David Morrissey was really good as Jackson, very Tom Bakeresque! I do wonder if he'll be back to replace David Tennant after next year's specials, think it'd be good to have a sort of accidental Time Lord in the Tardis......

I really enjoyed it and thought it was miles better than last year's special. David Morrissey was excellent and was a good foil for David Tennant....I loved the comedy moments with them like the balloon Tardis and the fobwatch

but there were touching moments too and both actors were very good.

I liked too how they showed the other Doctors...I'd been wondering how they'd fit into the story! Miss Hartigan wasn't menacing as such, but she was very sinister..... (isn't she the one who voices the Marks and Spencer "It's not just food" ads?!)

I wouldn't mind seeing Morrissey as the next Doctor after his performance in the special!

Would it not be a bit difficult to have Morrissey now as the next Dr?
considering he was just a human....and even if he does play a different
character as in the timelord i still think it would be very soon after
the xmas special to introduce him anew...well thats my opinion

As for the xmas special...I did enjoy it and it was much better than last
years..though to be fair that wouldn't be difficult lol I do however
feel that the Xmas specials are never as good as you expect them to
be every year...and Iwas slightly disappointed that we got nothing really
on the next special which by the last quarter of the episode I was looking
forward to..

..oh well

Yeh, I expected at least a trailer for 'Planet Of The Dead' at the end!

As far as I know, they'll be starting work on the specials in January....I read about David Tennant having an operation on his back and Dr Who sources saying he should be fit to start filming in January.....so there probably wouldn't be a trailer in that case?

No I doubt if Morrissey would be the new Doctor Who Luc, Patterson Joseph is one of the favourites to take over but I think he'd be a bit humourless in the role somehow

....as long as it's not Russell Tovey I don't mind!

It'll be interesting to see who eventually takes the role- maybe there's a surprise in store....
