I've been reading this lately as my dissertation research develops. Author Greil Marcus explores just why Elvis is such a cult figure around the world, even years after his death! He pops up in the visual arts, music..just about everywhere you could possibly think of, and Marcus explores why as well as giving his own views on The King ( he's a fan apparently). It's just amazing that he continues to be popular after so long.....
