The crew of Space Shuttle Discovery will blast off to the International Space Station in October - armed with Luke Skywalker's lightsaber.
NASA agreed to take the original Star Wars prop to mark the 1977 film's 30th Anniversary.
Film character Chewbacca handed it to officials yesterday.
I love how NASA agree to do things like this!

I like the idea of this too ....but.... I think it would have been much better had they put out the Millenium Falcon miniature model from the films into Space.....can you imagine they could film the tiny Falcon in real space And any aliens coming who meet it out there won't know what to make of it |

Wouldn't that be hilarious.... they would be watching where they stand when they land on Earth in case they step on one of us
You could put a tiny Han and Chewie in the Cockpit too of the Falcon |
