The company that recently resurrected Rambo is turning its sights on Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers....well not exactly the old story but more a how it all began one (a revamp you could even say)

The new movie will trace how swordsmen Athos, Porthos and Aramis first banded together.

D'Artagnan, the last member of the eventual quartet, will either be introduced later in the first movie or in a second installment.

Dumas novel is in the public domain.

All for one...and one for all

It seems like there's been umpteen Musketeers movies over the years, including a Gene Kelly one too   I think a revamp's good and it'll be fun seeing how they got together in the first place.

Yeah there has been loads of ones telling the traditional story...which is really Dartanian's and his meetings with the other three...it wasn't actually that long ago where they had Chris O Donnell as Dartanian remember?     of course the characters also featured in the Man in the Iron Mask too.

I do agree though I do think its good that it is a different take on the story

Yeah I remember the Chris O'Donnell one cause Kiefer Sutherland was in it too and was going to marry Julia Roberts....but she dumped him just before the wedding   .....so the other Musketeers actors consoled him!

I can imagine Shia LaBoeuf being in the new version and maybe Casey Affleck too!

Oh I didn't realise that was all going on with Kiefer at the time    no wonder he looked so hurt with the whole Lady DeWinter bits
and here was me thinking it was good acting

Why Casey Affleck??

Kiefer was gutted so Charlie Sheen and the others tried to cheer him up by taking him out drinking! Though apparently, they called Chris O'Donnell the choirboy cause he didn't drink

Casey Affleck's been getting rave reviews for his performance in Gone Baby Gone........that's the film diected by his brother Ben, that was held over in the UK cause of its similarities to the Madeleine McCann disappearance. Casey's being mooted as a rising star so that's why I can see him in the role!

I didn't know that babe    poor Chris O'Donnell used to get that alot I'll always remember seeing him on Oprah at the time of Batman and Robin and they had Arnie and George on with him and they really put him down I thought with comments like "You'll learn" and stuff like that...you know the type of condescending things some arrogant older people say to the young alot...Arnie in particular did it alot

I think someone fancies a certain Casey Affleck

there was another one out a couple of years ago called The Musketeer. It had Tim Roth as the villian and I found it quite entertaining.
