Before I say anything else, it is not as bad as reviewers in magazines have said and is still better than number 2 (quite an apt number considering how bad it was). Now, as most of you are aware, the Highlander franchise has peeing over it's followers for nearly 20 years now, and nothing changes here. Set in the not too distant future, the storyline is another kick in the nads to anybody who wants a storyline that doesn't contradict other films in the series. The Source of the title is supposedly where the Immortals come from. I don't want to say more about the plot than that, reason being, you can guess most of the film as it has the usual Highlander cliches, so anything you weren't expecting I would prefer you found out while watching the film instead of me spoiling it for you. Urm, there isn't really much else I can say about this film without giving it away, except that, like Endgame, you will have needed to watch a few episodes of the tv series first otherwise you could have a "Watchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis" moment. It's not the greatest film in the series, but it is by no means the worst. Hire it for a new Highlander fix. They don't come along that often. 3/5.

p.s.
There Can Be Only One my arse. How about One Hundred?

"Where the immortals come from???" Oh God I hope its not more of that alien shite from the second film now

I can only guess or hope it ain't ...they really wouldn't be that stupid to go down that route again?    Apart frojm this however ...sounds good

Nah. None of that Planet Zeist crap. Everybody ignores number 2 anyway. There are never any references in it in films, programmes, books etc (well apart from the awful cartoon. 'Nuff said). It does have a subcontext about faith and religion, so if they do finish the proposed new trilogy, it may take the franchise in a whole new, fresh direction.

Thank goodness Jipdog I hated that alien storyline

The new trilogy? Is this starting with The Source Jip? Or is this a totally new set of films?

Starting with The Source. To be honest, I can't see how a continuing storyline can come from the ending, but then again, who thought, back in 1986, there would be sequels when the ending was pretty final? I will look forward to the new films as any Highlander action is better than no Highlander action. Apart from the cartoons.

The cartoons must be pretty bad mate   Have they got Connor or Duncan in them or are they completely new characters...its not exactly a kids thing really to require an animation (perhaps if it was really good CG animation like Captain Scarlett or Starship Troopers?) after all cutting off people's heads  is not exactly a great subject for kids of all ages?

No Connor, no Duncan. Instead, we have........Quentin MaCleod! No decapitations either. They just sort of wave their sword at somebody and say There Can Be Only One. You weren't going to get too much blood before Blue Peter came on, were you?

The animation sounds pretty pitiful
