The film's been delayed till May 8th 2009

Apparently Paramount thinks it'll do better as a summer "tentpole" movie........no, I didn't know what it meant either

But it means a major movie with little competition in that slot. That doesn't sound too promising, almost like Paramount fear the movie won't be such a big hit

Oh what? It was ages away off as it is!! I doubt very much if a few more months will improve anything about it too - lol!!

Mind you, if my sister does get pregnant she'll be pleased as she won't be the size of a whale then - lol.

I suppose they could rewrite some things which they couldn't before cause of the writers strike

It's still a swizz putting it back till summer though.......it's opening now 1 week after the Wolverine movie.

I still think they should have left it till Christmas this year......more people would go and watch it then surely?

Where did you get your info from Cat? I haven't seen anything on the official film website or the ST website.

I saw it on teletext but the news is all over the place now! If you go to http://www.startrek.com it still says Stardate 12.25.08 and there's a link you can click on to go to the film's website.......and you can see it says in theaters May 2009 though it's still showing the Christmas Day release date on the trailer!
