I only saw a few eps of PB so I don't remember that character!

Critics didn't seem that thrilled about Max Payne....they said Mark Wahlberg frowned a lot

watched street kings at the weekend , really good film right up to the end , the ending lets it down a little , but i'd give it 3 and half or 4 out of 5 .  may add this to the collection

It's a good film but I always get it mixed up with We Own The Night for some strange reason

1 X MEN ORIGINS - WOLVERINE - Action packed "prequel" showing the early days of Wolverine as he learns with the help of his brother to survive as a mutant in the outside world. They are rescued after surviving a firing squad by Cmdr Straker who wants to help them utilise their "talents" for the good of the country. This being a X Men film, it soon becomes apparent that things aren't what they seem. This new film sees a physically beefed up Wolverine than in previous films (due to Jackman's involvement with the film as one of the producers). It also has a depth lacking in "comic book" adaptations. The stunts are well choreographed and despite some obvious blue screen techniques this is a big, brash, ballsy blockbuster. Be warned, stay seated until the end credits have finished as there are two endings to the film for two of the characters. A worthy 8/10.

2 QUANTUM OF SOLACE - Viewed a second time after the hype has died down and I find I'm even more impressed by the action sequences than I was when I saw it on the big screen. Despite the negative reviews this film more than holds its own amongst its predecessors. It reminded me more of the early Connery films in its look and style with Craig more than worthy of the role. The story itself is slight, but then Bond films can get away with that as the stunts are the thing which its known for. Having said that I found it very dark sometimes and the villain just as creepy as they've always been. I even started to like the theme song too as it seems to fit perfectly with the opener. 7/10.

3 NOISES OFF - Michael Frayn's superb farce made in 1992 with a cast of familiar faces including Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, Carol Burnett, Denholm Elliott, John Ritter and Nicolette Sheridan. If you haven't seen the play or this film, it concerns a group of actors as we observe them during the last day of rehearsals, opening night and the inevitable tour. The play itself is secondary to the goings on within the cast. Trying to hold it together is the writer and director Lloyd Fellowes (Michael Caine) who having written the piece sees it unravelling and becoming more of a nightmare as the actor's own problems merge with the goings on in the play. It's hard to describe how frantic and funny this film is, but if you know anything about farce you know it's incredibly difficult to achieve. Director Peter Bogdanovich has wisely kept the claustrophobic feel of the play setting it (apart for a small number of scenes) in and around the theatre itself. One particularly memorable scene shows how gifted the real actors are, when during a run of the play in front of an audience, arguments and mis-construed situations are going on backstage, but as this is a live performance there is a policy of no talking in the wings. This is all done in mime and the acting has really superb timing. Excellent  9/10
