Hopefully the wife didn't appear with magnifying glass in hand because....erm.... that would be just rude

All messing aside I love trying to guess the ending half way through a film

Signs

Watched this last night.Brilliant film I really enjoyed this one,one of M Night Shyamalan better films,
I have watched this before, and my expectations were again set high, and I was disappointed first time round,so I wanted to watch it again, just to see if it was really as bad as when I first thought.
But no, not this time, the suspense leading up to the inevitable attack,is really worth the watch alone.
Two brothers played by Mel Gibson as a preacher who has lost his faith due to the death of his wife, hit by a truck driven by,looks like a cameo from the Shyamalan himself.
And also we have Joaquin Pheonix who plays Merril his brother, who has decided to live with his brother and two chidren ,and the boy played very well by One of the Macculkin brothers, and better than that home alone chappy.
Anyway we start with the family stumble across a crop circle in their corn field.(funny you don`t see them nowadays)
And then all things are starting happen to animals around the area.
One night a being happens to be on their roof, and it all starts from there.
The best parts are the scenes between the family themselves, rather than the alien bits.
The crop circles start to appear around the world. And Alien craft hover ahead, the anticipation of a inevitable attack awaits. One of the funniest parts,is that they obtain a book, about aliens, and they make make these cone hats out of tin foil,so they cannot get into there brains or something.

The build up and the acting in this are second to none. And that is what makes this film, you don`t want the ending to come, because we all no where it is going.it`s just the leading up to it is the best part.
A very suspensful 10/10

I was the same YTTM when I saw it the first time.......I thought it would be like a big War of the Worlds type movie with a full alien invasion storyline so I was disappointed it seemed fairly low key. But I watched it again and enjoyed it more!

LOL Me too. I saw it at the pitcures and was very disappointed. It was very slow and obviously I didn't like the mention of religion.    The only bit I liked was when they first saw an alien outside, was it at a kid's party? That bit was a little scary. I didn't like the end either, thought it was too weird.

However, I've watched it again since and quite enjoyed it! I do think Shyamalan's films have been steadily getting worse though.

Good review mate
I think all films I have watched after The Sixth Sense that have come from Shyamalan I have been initially disappointed with mainly due to expecting a great twist ending which I suppose he could never really deliver and for this I slightly feel sorry for the Director. But like yourselves once I rewatch the movies I enjoy them even more. I really liked Signs and likewise thought it was going to be a very different movie but thats not a bad thing in my eyes.
Oh and I reallly liked the alien at the party moment too

Mr. Deeds Goes to Town

I got to see this lately and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Gary Cooper is exellent as a man called Longfellow Deeds who lives in Mandrake Falls, Vermont and leads the small town kind of life which includes playing the tuba in the town band..... that is until he inherits a massive fortune and has to move to the big city where every big shark and Phony is out to get him including the media...only Deeds is not as naive as they all think and outwits them all by the end. Its a good film with real funny moments particularly with others reactions at what they consider strange behaviour from Deeds but I also really liked the moments of surprise when he catches them all out or is on to them and their tricks.
It ends in a great court case too....

8.5/10
