thanks Aundy.
Return of the king.LOTR.

Now for two years, every Christmas,I get out my….LOTR,
I have managed to watch the first two,but never got to watching the third, well I can now actually say,I have,(I did see all three at the cinema,)but I wanted to watch them again, because,I wanted to.
And boy what a film, four hours of pure entertainment, loved every bum numbing leg shifting, beer swilling peanut munching minute of it.
Lets hear it for the hobbit,I can`t wait.

10/10/10/10/10.

One night at McCools.

This is one of those unsung gems, that just comes along and smacks you in the mouth, and have to say brilliant little film,so easy to watch,Jon Goodman is good anyway, but Micheal Douglas is funny donning a great syrup as a bingo playing hired gun, with a sympathetic ear.
It tells the story from three different people, about a girl they met one night at McCools.
I won`t give too much away. But the ending is a cross between Tarrantino meets the village people.go see it,you`ll love,I know I did.I loved it so much I bought it next day on Ebay.

10/10.

Sideways

Again another little gem, about two friends, one getting married, the other his friend who wants to give his soon to be married friend a good send off.
Paul Giammatti,is a oenophile( wine lover),and his( friend, just wants to get laid basically.)
Theres,laughs,theres tears,theres sex,theres sadness,but I came away from this film with a smile on my face.like a 1961 Château Cheval Blanc.Fantastic.

10/10

Training day

Watched this the other night, boy what a ride.
One day in the life of a Narc, especially with Denzil Washington as your boss.
What can i say,blown away.
We have Ethan Hawke as a rookie becoming a narc, his first day on the job, with Washington as his boss.
I don`t know where to begin, and i don`t want to give anything away,But we have drug taking, beer drinking, fighting, shooting, and thats from the cops.
Watch this film if you havent already,it`s certainly a roller coaster ride,
right until the end.
10/10.

Great reviews YTTM

I have watched so many films over the last two weeks between the telly and dvds I got as pressies but the last three officially were.....

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
This was on again yesterday on ITV and yes I watched it again after watching it Christmas Day    Its a great film though and always takes me back to when I was a kid....I love the whole build up at the beginning but it does get so much better when they go into the factory. Gene Wilder is truly magnificent in the part...
Its funny in my house you always expect to hear the same things when this film is on for example during the song 'Candyman Can' that the sweet shop owner sings to the kids and is throwing all his sweets to them while Charlie looks on  sad in the window....well you'll hear..."Hey why doesn't Charlie go in and get himself some of those free sweets?"    another one is when Agustice Bloop first comes into it you'll hear "Let me in... I'm starving!" in a German accent this is then repeated again when that line is finally said in the film...yes its like going to an interactive viewing of it in my house ...in fact all thats missing is that they don't dress up as characters from the film   .
10/10

Tigerland
This was on last night.... and I have to say I thought it was some of the best acting I have seen from Colin Farrell which really doesn't say alot for his acting in later projects    but I find his accent comes through alot more in his later roles but in this I don't think it is noticeable. Its basically an anti Vietnam film set in a boot camp thats training young lads before they are shipped out to the war. Farrell is the troublemaker/cool guy/wannabe desserter who many also hate including the staff sergeants but even they begrudgingly acknowledge his leadership potential. Tigerland was filmed in such a way that it appears like it was recorded on a color movie camera of the time (hand held) which is a nice touch....
Its one of those films that kept me watching till the end just to see what happens but for me is not next or near up there with the likes of Platoon or Full Metal Jacket
6/10

Meet the Parents
I got this as a pressie and I watched it the other night...I love the film both De Niro and Stiller are class... with some memorable scenes and dialogue throughout...I just love when
people say Focker particularly DeNiro and the last part is absolutely hilarious when DeNiro is watching the video back of Stiller talking about him and karate chopping   ..
9/10

The village.

Watched this one over the weekend,it was a toss up between that or constatine.i went with the village,as it had no adverts and not continued after the news.
Started off pretty well, good strong cast,it had potential.I mean this was the guy that brought us sixth sense. So I waited for the twist in the end like all of his films.

How wrong I was,not about the twist, but about the choice of film.
But I had to keep going,it had the supernatural suspense,do not go into the woods,or the creature will get you,so it had the expectations not for me to turn over.

A few times I drifted off, with pint in hand,it`s amazing i`ve done that a few times and never spilt a drop.
Anyway theres a point in the film where someone had to venture into the woods to get help, great I thought here we go,some gore, some blood, some horror.

Yeah i`m still waiting, there was twist, and I did not see it coming as usual, but to me the film lost it`s way earlier for me to care anyway.I don`t think I would watch this film again,I had to go onto wikipedia just so I could get some sense of the film.

Dire avoid it,I wish I had watched constatine now, adverts and all.
3.5/10 and that’s for the twist,but that’s it

four brothers
bought this the other day , watched it on saturday ,

plot . After their adoptive mother is murdered during a grocery store hold-up, the Mercer brothers--hotheaded Bobby, hard-edged Angel, family man and businessman Jeremiah, and hard rocking Jack--reunite to take the matter of her death into their own hands. As they track down the killer, they quickly realize that their old ways of doing business have new consequences. Its not as predictable as you might think.

very good film ,

defo 9/10

The Village

I actually didn't mind The Village YTTM of course its not next or near as good as The Sixth Sense or Unbreakable but I still thought it was okay....I wasn't convinced at all at the twist though I seen it coming half way through the film..... Did you notice Shyamalan in the movie by the way.....its near the end and its a reflection
I'd give it a 5/10 ....okay maybe I'm being generous but I do feel had Shyamalan released this film years from now and not immediately after doing films like The Sixth Sense we may have looked on it more favourably

Sin City

I watched this last night.....and I have to say I love the way its filmed... Sin City is like watching a real life comic book mixing dark and bright colours into a black and white template...the characters, the dialogue and the action all coming straight from an adult private eye book with a fantastic cast which includes Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Michael Clarke Duncan,   Benicio Del Toro,  Rosario Dawson, Elijah Wood
Oh and how could I forget Carla Gugino's great scene    that aslone deserves the 10 points but also throw in there Alba in a skimpy cowboy outfit and whoa

A visually stunning 10/10
