As a 'writer', I feel it is my duty to post the first thread upon this forum

We shall write a one sentence story i.e. one sentence each and see where it takes us...

The Story

It was a dark and thundery night, as our hero opened the front door of Miserden House.

His eyes stung from the swift cutting breeze endured as he slowly peered into the darkness that seemed to succumb the entire hallway.

As his eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness he could make out a strange shape slowly coming towards him......

It was the figure of a large bosomed woman, unsteady on her feet as she waved a candelabra shakily in the air.

"Come in.....Mr Penitent... we have been expecting you" she eventually mutters with a strange look in her eye as she turned to lead the way.... He slowly follows her...

(I think this is grand for now anyway K

Across the dust strewn hallway, along a narrow corridor filled with pictures of people from years gone by, to the open door of the study where Mr Penitent heard a familiar voice cry out in surprise.....

'Margaret? Margaret!' cried the voice, making the woman start guiltily and cower back into the shadows as Mr Penitent frowned in surprise.

"How did the voice know I used to be called Margaret?" thought Mr Penitent in shock.......

He exchanged glances with The Other Margaret, as suddenly the brown leather wingback chair spun round to reveal the speaker.
