As instructed I'm posting in the music section!!
I thought we could have a thread about concerts we've been to/are going to.
I'm going to see Editors in a fortnight - woohoo!!!!
Can't wait, they were totally sold out but I managed to get tickets off e-bay.

My favourite EVER gig was Alice In Chains at Manchester Academy, around 15 years ago.
TOTALLY enjoyed it, from the opening song to the last.
Then they were interviewed in the Manchester Evening News a few days later, and they said it was the worst gig they had ever done. The crowd were lifeless, the venue was tiny and they vowed never to come back.
They were right about never coming back, as Layne Staley died a short while after!
T'was still the best gig ever in my opinion. _________________ 80s Nostalgia.com |

My ex bought me the Jar of Flies / SAP EP CD for my birthday years ago.
A few weeks later, for her birthday she asked me to buy her the Greatest Hits by James.
It didn't last long after that. lol.
Always remember A I C playing Would? around half way through the gig. On the CD it lasts around 3 mins, but when they played it it lasted about 5. They played it at such a slow pace, it sounded REALLY dark and menacing. Absolutely gorgeous.
Grind is a great album too! _________________ 80s Nostalgia.com |

Not sure I've ever heard them!! Are they particularly famous?!
My fave concert, hmm, Pulp were excellent, just as good live as on their albums, The Cure are ALWAYS good, naturally - LOL! I saw the Wonder Stuff at Manchester and OMD (amongst others) were supporting and they were surprisingly brilliant, very energetic.
I much prefer small gigs, have only been to a couple of stadium concerts and they were smallish stadiums at that - LOL! |

LOL! The first EVER gig I went to was The Wonder Stuff, at Walsall Stadium. It was fantastic. Vic Reeves even came on to sing Dizzy at the end.
Alice in Chains aren't overly famous. They released about 5 or 6 singles I think, had one 4 track EP, 3 proper albums and 1 double CD thing with 2 EPs in it. That was well over 10 years ago though, but they're still my fave band.
Chris Cornell from Soundgarden did backing vocals on their first ever EP. weird. _________________ 80s Nostalgia.com |

Well, they were one of the first I saw, well, in the first 10 anyway - LOL! I loved them at the time.
I'm going to see if I can find anything by AIC to see if I do actually know them - LOL!
OK, listened to several songs on YouTube, definitely never heard them before - LOL! |
