The Sunday Mirror claimed that Michelle Ryan is in talks to be the new assistant to Matt Smith's Doctor when he takes over the role in 2010. She's appeared in Eastenders, the Bionic Woman remake and lately she's been seen in Merlin.
Matt Smith and Michelle Ryan would look good together but I'm wondering, if she gets the role, if the show would be too lightweight and if the show's bosses are going for a more glamorous feel, like you get in American tv shows where everyone is good looking?!

I could live with that casting babe ...hope its true now  you could be right about them gearing it to American audiences now more  as long as the keep the writing good there shouldn't be a huge problem

I don't think she'll be dressed like that if she gets the role Luc
Doctor Who already has fans in America and Michelle Ryan will be known to American audiences through her Bionic Woman role, so it's possible they're trying to boost Who in the US. |

Me too and there would be very little exploring going on...well exploring of time and space I mean
Unfortunately I think she may be just assisting for the Easter special..perhaps they want to see how she does first...to see if she would be popular
