It said on this morning's news that the new Doctor will be announced tonight (Jan 3rd) at 5.35pm on BBC1. Not long to wait now!

Ist reaction to the new Doctor......never heard of him!  2nd reaction.....he's almost like David Tennant but with weird hair!
I can see why they've picked Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor, he has a certain quirkiness about him that's just right for the part. I like too how they've gone for a young, relatively unknown actor instead of an established older actor. Let's hope he lives up to the part now! |

Damn, my planned punchline's already been used! But I think Matt Smith should be given a chance in the role, he shouldn't be judged against David Tennant but assessed on his own merits.

WHO? will be the reaction of lots of people
He's bound to be judged against David Tennant at first but he'll bring his own take on the Doctor to the role and I'm looking forward to see what he's like! (Though I'm still sad David Tennant's leaving  ) |

I was the same too in asking who is he
When i first seen him i thought he kind of looks a bit like a mix between Tennant and Ecclestone only younger but now all i seem to see is that boxer ricky Hatton
I do think he has to be given time to see how he does before people start prejudging his failings

| It certainly is a weird hairstyle but maybe he has it that way so people remember him at auditions? It worked, Steven Moffat even mentioned his hair |

In the picture of him with the Tardis I thought he looked like some kind of posh public schoolboy straight out of RADA- I hope he isn't a snob!
