Funny if they were going for a black Doctor which mightn't be a bad idea actually ..I thought they would have gone for Adrian Lester from Hustle who has that real confident air about him and that twinkle for fun and mischief too....he has also voiced an interest in the part aswell....
THE first black Doctor Who could be on our screens if one ambitious actor gets his way.
Adrian Lester is a huge fan and has set his sights on becoming the next Doctor.
The 39-year-old Hustle star said: “I love Doctor Who. I grew up with the series. I actually own the very first copy of the Doctor Who Magazine with Tom Baker and the Daleks on the cover. The role really appeals to me.
“TV producers don’t like taking risks with casting, but that can make things a bit boring.
“It would be good to mix things up and there’s no reason why they couldn’t have a black Doctor, or a woman. In fact, why not a black woman? Though I want to play him first.”
The role of the Doctor is open as the current run is the last full series with David Tennant.
