I'm struggling to think of any remakes that were better than the original |

The Fly could be argued...although I love the original too...
But I think people get far too bent out of shape about remakes okay some are bad and should never have been made particularly when the copy an old movie exactly but on many occasions I see a remake as no different than a sequel to a great film _________________

I personally don't mind them as long as they are different from the original...there has been some that I have questioned why they bothered as in they were identical to the original...like Psycho _________________

better
the fly
i did like the remake of the ladykillers
longest yard is a brilliant comedic rendition of the burt reynolds longest yard aka mean machine
ben hur (1959 version received many oscars) - arguably better than 1920s editions
the birdcage - i did'nt see the french version but i loved it
cape fear
i prefer departed to infernal affairs
charlottes web
doctor dooloittle
fatal attraction supposedly a remake of diversion
father of the bride
king kong (obviously better, but maybe not for originality)
heat
house of wax
i am legend (i did like omega man though)
JAZZ SINGER
little shop of horrors (miles better)
magnificent 7 and 7 samurai are tied
meet joe black
munich
mr deeds
oceans eleven
nutty professor
red dragon was closer to the book but maybe not better due to acting (brian cox was far more chilling than hopkins' lektor in red dragon)
scarface
shining (well, according to stephen kin - but noone else)
sweeney todd - nah i still love todd slaughter
when a stranger calls
xanadu
well theres but a few and subject purely to your opinion _________________ "i'd buy that for a dollar"
