Variety reports that Eddie Murphy approached the studio about reviving the franchise which earned £158 million worldwide from the original Beverly Hills Cop movie in 1984.

Brett Ratner's in negotiations to direct with a proposed 2009 start for a summer 2010 release.

I loved the original, liked the sequel, didn't see the third and I'm not sure about a 4th

Yep like yourself babe I loved the original, and liked the sequel, however I have also seen the third film aswell and it was bad and I mean bad!!! Eddie Murphy really sold out big time and did this strictly for the money....I don't think he even read the script...and I like him normally but the third film should never have been made...
If they do make it.....I hope its a proper continuation from the first two and the third is overlooked

I just hope the fourth is better written...oh and IO hope they get the main guys back too..in the 3rd one they just got Reinfold

Yeah I liked Judge Reinhold's character and the other cop too so I hope they're back in it too.

Eddie Murphy was very likeable in the first film......if I see this one I'll be thinking Norbit

I love the first film aswell and Taggart was the other guy's character in it I think

It also had great music in both films aswell ...I hope the 4th does too

Yeah it was Rosewood and Taggart Luc. I thought it was Bogomill at first, but he's the Lieutenant.

Yeah I really like that scene too though there are so many good scenes in both films....remember the bit where he takes a loan of Rosewood's bag of vitamins and then lets on its an explosive material to the secretary and that he's only doing this job to get his little kiddies new shoes and stuff and she ends up paying him to bring it up to the office himself
