Variety reports that Producers David Permut and Steve Binder have acquired the rights to Alanna Nash's 2003 book "The Colonel:The Extraordinary story of Colonel Tom Parker and Elvis Presley"

Parker always claimed to be American but Alanna Nash discovered a link to the Netherlands......and a possible link to a murder.

A murder? really?    was he manager of Elvis in the final years? I know my Mother and most Elvis fans used to always blame his management and other around Elvis for his death.....filling him with loads of drugs to keep him working the film sounds interesting though

He was Elvis's manager from the early years Luc. He sounded a shady character......it makes you wonder why Elvis stuck with him when he took 50% of his earnings.

According to research for my project he wasn't a Colonel in the conventional sense, and his real name wasn't Tom Parker, he was a Dutch 'carnie' who got into business.

I wonder did Elvis salute him and treat him like a superior Officer?

Would'nt have thought so, though it was actually Parker who was behind Elvis's drafting into the US Army, in a nice twist!
