She should have invited all the neighbours round for a party then they wouldn't have complained

It seems out of place though having corporate functions at an historic house like that......but it's her house when all's said and done!

Well if she did that in they came it probably would have been much more difficult to complain later about the noise when she had later parties

A new development!

Jane Seymour got so fed up of all the trouble she's been having that she's sold her mansion to an unnamed buyer according to her estate manager. She'd been described as "the neighbour from hell" by her neighbours and accused of being aloof and only interested in money. While she, on the other hand, said her neighbours were obsessed by "jealousy" and accused them of "nimbyism"

It all goes on in the countryside!

I read about that in the paper, didn't realise there'd been a thread here about it - lol Personally I think she's a selfish cow, and I'm glad for the locals she's sold her house. People should be more considerate. So what if it's her house, if she's causing a nuisance to people in the vicinity then she should be in trouble for it. How she can't possibly see that by applying for a 24hr licence so she can have all night parties isn't going to piss people off I don't know. People like that make my blood boil!!

And the magistrates are a bunch of idiots, like you said, if it was the house next to theirs they'd soon be complaining!

You never noticed my thread

It'll be interesting who buys it next.......I should imagine it'll be another celebrity again. I bet the neighbours will be hoping it's someone quieter!

Well the Osbornes said about selling their house

Being invited to a party's one thing Luc.....but having to put up with the noise and you're not invited is quite another thing!

So what your saying is if they were invited to the party the noise then would be alright...it only became unacceptable when they weren't handed invites? I'm starting to think she was right ...the neighbours seemed to be a bit petty after all I don't believe she was having parties every night....it probably only happened now and then

Funny the first thing I thought of was the Osbournes.

Personally if a neighbour invited me to a party I'd still be pissed off about noise, particularly as I don't like parties and so wouldn't go - lol And no, it wouldn't matter how many famous people were there, or actors I thought were amazing.

From what I've read the parties were very frequent, and it wasn't just the noise from the house but constant comings and goings too. I would be well pissed off, you live in the country to get away from these crappy townie types and then to have them all turning up on your doorstep, it's a f'n liberty!

I meant if you're at a party the noise wouldn't seem as bad with all the music, talking and laughing going on.......but in the normally quiet countryside the noise would carry and seem even louder!

I don't know if she was throwing parties all the time or not but she's let film companies film there before cause it's such an old and historic house, so maybe they caused noise too? (as well as all the vehicles trundling up and down the lanes)

It's a shame they couldn't all have come to a compromise without it going to court.
