played the demo on my mates ps3 , holy crap feckin awesome , even better graphics that 08 . game play is smooth as hell.

How is the gameplay compared to 08? I generally upgrade each year, but I may not this year if it's not worth it due to money constraints.

Yep I heard the graphics again are good...but to be honest bud the graphics we're always FIFa's strong point ....its the gameplay that lets it down for me I much prefer Pro Evo even though last years was a big let down 
I'm expecting much better this year in Pro Evo 2009...I must actually put up a thread for it here aswell 
As for Fifa from what I hear they are bridging the gap with the gameplay and I may have to play the demo to fully see for myself....I just think its really a choice issue ...a preference...some people will just like Fifa others PES and nothing will change that

game play is a lot better from the demo , and i would say it's a lot smoother than 08 defo get it jip . i think even pro evo players will like it .

If the gameplay is better, then I will be upgrading. I thought 08 was pretty fine, but if it's better.... Plus I got to play with Berbatov in the new United kit.
