Angelina Jolie in skintight outfits.......yes, I can see why Andy and Luc picked this for review
Following on from Lara Croft:Tomb Raider, Angelina straps on the pistols again to play the intrepid archaeologist in the followup.... Lara Croft Tomb Raider:The Cradle of Life. Zooming across the sea on a jetski while wearing a skimpy bikini must be one of the most memorable scenes since Ursula Andress in Dr No!
The story's about Lara discovering a mysterious orb which she finds out leads to Pandora's box. Cue the evil scientist (Jonathan Reiss) who wants the orb to find out where Pandora's Box is so he can unleash the powers of the box and use it as the ultimate weapon of mass destruction. Along the way we get Gerard Butler as Lara's former lover.......but is he a goodie or a baddie?
Chris Barrie's in the cast again too as Hillary the faithful manservant of Lara..........are we ever going to see him in a Red Dwarf film?! He doesn't have a big role but it's good to see him again.......if they do another Lara Croft movie give him a bigger role!
Sometimes sequels can be rubbish but this one is pretty good with lots of action......it's good to see an action woman for a change!

Exactly the same Chump my old mucka so your welcome to join anytime
Its not a matter of good or bad .....our reviews are just different Cat and of course that makes them good....who wants us all doing similar reviews... besides I always like the way you do movie reviews
Anyway here's mine for From Dusk Till Dawn
I have to say I love this film its basically about two criminal brothers who take a family hostage in order to get to Mexico, where they have a meeting to get to in a bar/ strip joint there, called the 'Titty Twister' only unknown to them its full of Vampires and they end up fighting for their lives.
Geoge Clooney is great as Seth Gecko but for me Quentin Tarantino steals the show as his sick and twisted brother Richard who just seems on the verge of losing control at every moment particularly when he is with females . Harvey Keitel is good too as the ex - minister who has lost his faith and daughter Juliette Lewis is okay aswell however she does play the same kind of roles alot.
The fight sequences are fantastic and the whole film builds up extremely well to where they get to the bar where all hell breaks loose....I always thought Keitel's shotgun and baseball bat 'cross' looked cool keeping all the bloodsuckers at bay while blowing the odd one's head off .
I also think no review of this film could go past without mentioning the fantastic and gorgeous Salma Hayek who does one of the best dances with a snake ever!!!! I love the bit when she puts her hair down, the music gets rocky and she just goes for it.... very sexy!!
A genuinely funny bloodfest..packed with action, horror, sexiness, laughs and some great quotes...like the guy who meets them at the door of the Titty Twister called Chet Pus*y
"All right, pus*y, pus*y, pus*y! Come on in pus*y lovers! Here at the Titty Twister we're slashing pus*y in half! Give us an offer on our vast selection of pus*y, this is a pus*y blow out! All right, we got white pus*y, black pus*y, Spanish pus*y, yellow pus*y, we got hot pus*y, cold pus*y, we got wet pus*y, we got..... [sniffs] smelly pus*y, we got hairy pus*y, bloody pus*y, we got snappin' pus*y, we got silk pus*y, velvet pus*y, Naugahyde pus*y, we even got horse pus*y, dog pus*y, chicken pus*y! Come on, you want pus*y, come on in, pus*y lovers! If we don't got it, you don't want it! Come on in, pus*y lovers!"
or...
Kate: "Are you okay?"
Seth: "Peachy, Kate. The world's my oyster, except for the fact that I just rammed a wooden stake in my brother's heart because he turned into a vampire, even though I don't believe in vampires. Aside from that unfortunate business, everything's hunky-dory."
or...
Seth: "So what are you, Jacob? A faithless preacher? Or a mean motherfuckin' servant of God?"
Great movie well worth a watch!!

Yeah join the club Chump......they can't touch you for it
Your reviews are always fun to read Luc
Dusk to Dawn.......believe it or not but I'd never seen it before ......yes, really! So I didn't know what to expect when I read the storyline of 2 criminal brothers and vampires.....it even crossed my mind it might be a comedy......but with Quentin Tarantino involved I should have known there'd be blood.....and lots of it!
It's one of those films that sound so far out there that I didn't think I'd like it.......but I did! Quentin Tarantino is excellent as the psychotic Richard Gecko with a twisted fixation with harming women. One minute he's quiet and the next he explodes in fury and it's up to his brother Seth (played by the oh so sexy George Clooney ) to try and keep him under control.
They kidnap a family and force them to drive to Mexico where they've arranged to meet up with some local hoods. Harvey Keitel is good as the preacher father who's become sceptical about God. When Seth tries to get him to talk about his dead wife you can see the preacher gritting his teeth in anger and practically spitting the words out.....good performance by Keitel
I loved the p***y speech at the Titty Twister strip joint (great name btw!) and I kept thinking how much the guy looked like the cop who'd pulled over the camper van earlier on.....till I realised it was the same actor (Cheech Marin) who actually plays 3 parts in the movie Salma Hayek's snake dance routine is sexy and I can understand why men remember that scene The fights with the vampires are awesome with great sfx and funny moments thrown in too. I loved when the guy's changing into a vampire and he's deserately trying to hide his hands and face
I've always said I don't like films with blood, guts and hacked off limbs but Tarantino's screenplay is so clever, funny and downright entertaining that I liked the film........

Another great review. ......And you can't write good ones???? You just did
Okay I finally got to watch Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life and for a start what is with the huge title
I enjoyed seeing Angelina Jolie back in this role as she really does resemble the computer game character though I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the shorts and tight top Croft is so famous for wearing but as Cat said the bikini on the jetski really was pretty good .
The action scenes were fast and furious and I did enjoy them even though some stretched reason far beyond what they should have like the scene where she cuts herself in order to lure some shark that just appeared fom nowhere and then gives it a thump like a slapstick cartoon in order to ride it to the surface. She then floated for ages on the water with that open wound...I just kept thinking to myself how come no other shark was trying his luck?..Maybe I watched too many Jaws movies lately? or perhaps the other shark warned others away either way she gets picked up by a sub that comes up from underneath.
I also like Cat found Chris Barrie who I really enjoyed in the first film very much underused in this and I do think the film suffered
due to that.....the tech/computer guy I felt the same about too. I actually got the impression that their parts were much more elaborate but they were edited down in the final cut... however I did laugh at the two in the end getting their hair and face done by the local tribes women and being told they are been prepared for marriage .
The movie reminded me aswell very much of previous Indy movies too with the Pandora's Box being very like the Ark of the Covenant that crystal orb thing linking her to the tribe in Africa where she meets the wise leader had echoes of Temple of Doom and the indian tribe Indy meets and just basically the way she was traveling the globe. But for me this was part of the problem I had.... as it made it look almost like a Spy film too I think I would have preferred to see Lara search for a short time at the beginning for the location of the item and then the rest of the movie should really have just been her getting locked in some massive tunnel maze in order to retreive it. setting off and escaping traps while also evading the rival bad guys.
All in all I enjoyed it for what it was some mindless action while checking out Jolie in some skimpy or tight gear....but part of me was hoping for more...and I don't a nude Jolie I'm referring to the script... however you can't always get what you want all the time!
