Transformers t shirt and Heathrow!

The Sun reports that airport guards stopped a man from boarding a plane.......for wearing a Transformers t-shirt showing a cartoon gun   He was told to change his top if he wanted to catch his flight from Heathrow's Terminal 5. A spokesman for Heathrow operators BAA said "If a t-shirt has a rude word or a bomb on it for example, a passenger may be asked to remove it. We are investigating what happened to see if it came under this category."

So be careful what you wear when catching a flight

That is so ridiculous....I'd understand it now more if the t-shirt said "I have a bomb" or something but an action film's t-shirt....good job he wasn't wearing a Die Hard 2 one

I know....it's ridiculous Luc isn't it?! The article said too about a woman being stopped at a Canadian airport for wearing a gun charm on her bracelet   and a woman at Gatwick was stopped because she had.............a beef sandwich   Goodness knows what they thought she was going to do with it
Lucifer_666

A beef Sandwich???     She may take the plane down with her indigestion eh??

Craziness the whole thing

One word- Madness!
Catnapper

Yeah they should use their common sense more! I know they'll have a rule saying no guns or weapons allowed on board but that shouldn't apply to t-shirts or charm bracelets

As for the beef sandwich....I know the US has strict policies on foodstuffs entering the country and it could be something to do with the BSE scare but I can imagine armed guards standing over her making sure she ate it before getting on the plane
Lucifer_666

I actually think it has very little to do with BSE though I do think they are mad cows

It is ludicrous..... and your right common sense should be employed
Catnapper

It's like everything else today Luc....there's a set of rules and officials stick to them instead of using common sense sometimes. No wonder you get holdups at airports if you can get stopped for petty things like wearing the "wrong" t-shirt
Lucifer_666

Like I can understand them sticking to rules and laws after all nobody wants to be the one who didn't if there is a terror attack but I am yet to see a t-shirt or a braclet take over or blow up a plane
