Transformers- Revenge Of The FallenI took advantage of my new found short term status as a man of leisure by going to see the new 'Transformers' film. Having enjoyed the first one I didn't really know what to expect from this but I think I can safely say this tops it. Sam ( Shia LaBeouf) goes off to 'college' but it isn't too long at all before he's called back into the heart of the civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons and all hell breaks loose! Some of the action scenes are spectacular but if you want cerebral entertainment this isn't it- some of the dialogue and plot seems contrived. But if you're willing to suspend some disbelief for a few hours and (like me) loved the original series in younger years I can almost certainly guarantee you'll love it. Plus Megan Fox is in it, and she's lovely......

Forget Megan Fox...it's got Bumblebee in it    I'm glad you thought it was good Morphy, some critics have said it's just a rehash of the 1st film!

To an extent it is, but to me there was sufficient new ground covered even if I could have guessed most of what was coming- don't know if they're going to make a third film in the near future but it's certainly now set up nicely for that eventuality.

It's a good old fashioned turn your brain off action film with no hidden messages, trying to make it sound important. In other words, brilliant! I don't know what the reviewers were expecting it to be. It sure as hell wasn't meant to be held in the same regards as the films of Bergman, Kubrick or Lean. It's pure popcorn fun!

All messing aside if i were to win the euromillions and was a multi millionaire i think would be back collecting old toys like that....i'd have rooms just displaying the stuff

Apparently its been rumoured- as long as they don't turn it into a few hours of something like 'Walking With Dinobots' with Optimus Prime as the David Attenborough of the piece I don't mind.....

Oh God, why do I get the feeling they'll wheel out all the Transformers spinoffs in one film now?

I wouldn't read much into rumours for the third one. Michael Bay has said he will direct the next one, but it won't be out until June 2012, even though Paramount have given it a release date of June 2011. Michael Bay also said that there will be no Dinobots in any Transformers film that he directs as he hates them. Personally, I can't see how they would fit in with the tone of the films.
