The Hardy MenTom Cruise has been talking with Ben Stiller about starring in an updated version of "The Hardy Boys" at Twentieth Century Fox. Tentatively titled "The Hardy Men" "The Hardy Boys" detective novels date back to 1927, though a variety of ghost writers using the pen name of Franklin W. Dixon kept Frank and Joe Hardy perpetual teenagers. "The Hardy Men" would have them finally grown up, but up to their old tricks once more.
I found this by accident but I just love the thoughts of these two together for this film and it is going ahead  and is in pre production for a 2009 release. 
Sean 'Night at the Museum' Levy is directing and Simon Kinberg is doing the script

I've heard of The Hardy Boys but I've never read any of the novels before so I don't know what they're about! Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller sound a good pairing........if it's a comedy type film I'd love to see Ben taking the mick out of Tom!

Oh with that casting its most definitely being played for laughs babe.... I also reckon Tom wants to go a bit more fun in his next few roles as I think his action movie future may be suffering since M.I.3 and all the mad scientology things he's been at....
They will more than likely play it very much taken the piss out of themselves and the characters of Joe and Frank...I still love Ben taking off Tom in that vid they did where he was Tom's stunt double
Should be fun!!
