The Eye

It's a remake of the Asian horror film Gin Gwai and it stars Jessica Alba as a violinist, Sydney Wells, who has been blind since childhood. After undergoing eye corneal transplants she's getting used to seeing shapes and colours and gradually adjusting to life as a seeing person........when she starts being haunted by frightening dark figures and visions of the dead.

I enjoyed it and Jessica Alba was good in the role but I think an actress such as Charlize Theron, who has a wider emotional range, would have made the film more intense and scary.......but even so,  it does have some moments that make you jump!

I actually watched the original asian horror not that long ago babe and thoughbt it was very good....I'd be interested to see now how the Hollywood one differs from it?? They usually are never as good but you never know

I haven't seen the Asian one but it's supposed to be scarier than the remake. The Hollywood film is good so try and see it Luc then you can compare them.

One thing about Jessica Alba's performance - she didn't look realistic when she's playing the violin. I think those scenes could have been done better.

I will babe ....what is it with hollywood for constantly remaking asian films?
You would think they would have had her meet with people who actually play the violin before so they could show her how to look realistic as she's faking it

Yes they've done a few Asian horror remakes lately but I don't mind cause I like them  ......I prefer that kind of horror rather than the slice 'em and dice 'em type of films

When someone's playing the violin they usually look quite animated but Jessica Alba just stands there with hardly any movement!

ive not seen or heard of the original but this film sounds quite good

I read that Renee Zellweger was originally cast as the lead!

mmm, i can't imagine her been in a horror, she'll always be bridget jones to me lol
Lucifer_666

Yep Cat I like asian horrors myself and to be honest I find it very interesting when they do remakes of them to just analyse and compare

Why do I have visions now of Renee Zellweger's big Butt coming down a pole on some Bogey Man like Michael Myers
