Synposis: The 2008 remake about an alien and his indestructible robot will star (Keanu Reeves) as Klaatu, Jennifer Connelly as Helen Benson, (Jaden Smith) as Jacob, and (Kathy Bates). Gort has not been cast at this time and will most likely be created using FX. The remake of (The Day the Earth Stood Still) will supposedly remain true to the original movie, however there is a chance the remake will more likely remain true to the short story upon which the 1951 movie is based. |

I love the original film.....Michael Rennie will always be the definitive Klaatu for me but I'm really looking forward to seeing this film
I'm curious about a cgi Gort too......the original Gort looked pretty scary especially when the eerie music played whenever he appeared! |

I have to say I think the trailer looks pretty damned good...and yeah a cgi Gort does sound intriguing.....I hope its done well now becasue as you say the old one was very good

This is an extended 7 minute preview trailer that was shown on US tv......I've always loved the original film but this one looks amazing and even scarier

Looks pretty good, actually. I've seen the original and if they can stay true to it I see no reason why it won't do well. |

Did you notice in that new trailer Dexter's sister is in the film too

At first I thought it was that kid from Heroes and I was about to write it in my post
She is in the scene where it looks like a military meeting at a table and she's looking at the guy talking |
