The Birds Flock back for a RemakeMartin Campbell ("Casino Royale," "Goldeneye," "The Mask of Zorro") will direct the re-imagining of the Alfred Hitchcock classic "The Birds" for Platinum Dunes, Mandalay Pictures and Universal Pictures reports the trades.
Naomi Watts is lined up for some while now, but her involvement will depend on the script.
The studio reckons it will be more connected to the Daphne du Maurier short story than the legendary 1963 Hitchcock film based on it which bore little resemblance short of the 'nature on the attack' angle.
This pleases me too...... after all we don't want another Pyscho remake do we?

They're going to town remaking old movies......it makes you wonder if they'll do all the Hitchcock movies if this one proves popular.
The Tippi Hedren film was fairly scary but I can imagine this one will be very scary thanks to cgi!

I think the remake is the new sequel these days and I personally think there is a disproportionate amount of disdain towards remakes than they deserve and yes I know very few are better than the original but I could argue same thing goes for sequels.
I think this one babe will be much scarier too though....I can imagine the birds being really creepy in it
