Okay I just read this new spoiler/rumour about the ending of the first film which will apparently spawn the trilogy? If this is true I'm slightly concerned..

that is the stupidiest thing i have ever seen , why would john be fighting with the terminator he'd obviously lose unless he had rocket launcher or somekind of laser gun . what they should do is have the T800 walking towards conner , and marcus sees this and interveins and the 2 terminators fight , and conner gets away .

I personally don't want to see the Terminators fight one another any more ...we had enough of that in that three movies and now a tv series...instead lets see the reason why the Terminators of the future are so scared of one single human...in other words lets see a tough ass human leader

Check this out again....and just replace the end character with Christian Bale., maybe even have it even harder and then throw in some better special effects too ...I WANT AN ENTIRE FILM LIKE THIS MCG!!!!!

Here's another clip from the first film I really believe this urban wreakage of a battlefield that we see in both films should be the main setting in most of the new trilogy

though the bit where he says ""They told me I could stop it....That I could save us.....They were Wrong"
kind of makes me think that what we previously heard about Connors being killed and replaced with a robot could be true and I really don't like that storyline

All messing aside I really hope McG can pull it out of the bag contrary to his other work or disasters

Like I said before Luc, I quite enjoyed the first Charlie's Angels film, but if Jonathan Mostow hashed up T3, McNugget has no chance. I honestly don't think he will be able to handle the correct tone, and he's not that good a director. The snippets of the story that are coming through, for me, blows any hope out of the water. I don't think it will be a hit and where would that leave the rest of the proposed trilogy?

Oh I think it will be a hit now Jipdog even if I'm not that keen on the story ...and the reason I say that is because of the time period its set, Cristian Bale and what looks to be a pretty good cast involved, the fact that its the first of a new apparent three, a big budget, and chances are they will have an Arnie Image or images somewhere too.....All these things will get bums on seats in cinemas I'm sure of....but like I said whether the plot will please me is another question

For example look at T2..the plot irrated me but it was a massive success

Maybe after Salvation the other 2 films will be about a battle to reset time so certain events don't happen?

That could be a possibility babe alright....I'm hoping its not anything like that though and that all three films are just plain future 'war' films with a kick ass human leader

Over the weekend there one of our Irish channels showed Aliens really late and I stayed up to watch it...still a great film.....I don't know why I'm mentioning it here but you just reminded me of it babe

One of the biggest questions swirling around TERMINATOR SALVATION has been: how are they going to deal with T-800 character Arnold portrayed in the first three films? Would he/it appear at all? If so, would he/it be a CGI Arnold, an actual cameo by Arnold himself, or...what?

Now we have that answer, thanks to an article published yesterday in the Clinton News Record. Seems the role has been recast & will be assumed by another Austrian bodybuilder named Roland Kickinger.

Kickinger has numerous credits under his belt (ranging from LETHAL WEAPON 4 to HOME IMPROVEMENT to...believe it or not..TEAM KNIGHT RIDER) and once trained with Schwarzenegger - even playing him in a recent A&E biopic.

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

This month, however, Kickinger begins filming what is likely the role of his life to date, as his portion of Terminator Salvation begins to take shape.

“There’s a very strong scene in the film where John Connor for the first time meets the Terminator, and he doesn’t know if he’s a good guy or a bad guy,” said Kickinger.

“It’s Arnold’s character in the first Terminator. That’s basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about.”

I actually think Kickinger does kind of look like Arnie particularly from the first Terminator film so I think it could be a good solution...I thought though that they would have went with CGI...for me its the story and plot and the war action with John Connor against the robots that is the important bit

That's a crafty way of getting round Arnie not being in the film! He does look like a young Arnie and it's spooky he's an Austrian bodybuilder too

....wonder if he sounds like Arnie?!
