In the highly anticipated new installment of The Terminator film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

The release also says that Charlotte Gainsbourg will play Kate Connor....

Presumably this is the Kate Brewster character, now married to John. The role was originated by Claire Danes in TERMINATOR 3.

Some strange things said in this like 'Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part' and 'Marcus sent from the future, or rescued from the past'

The first thing that entered my mind is (and I could be completely wrong now) is Marcus Kyle Reece perhaps saved from death in the past and brought to the future before John meets him there??? Is this getting confusing now?

"As Skynet prepares its final onslaught".........will this be a continuing storyline spread over the 3 films Bale's signed up for I wonder? In which case I'm guessing T4 and T5 end on huge cliffhangers guaranteed to keep us watching.

All this past and future lark gets me confused as well!

Brilliant babe...some great stuff there now..and we could have Arnie in it yet?? What did you think of their reluctance to answer that?
I don't think he will star but I think they may have got permission from him for his cgi image to appear in the film and they could have early models of the Arnie Terminator being built in a mass factory or something

I noticed too they didn't say no when asked about Arnie. Other sites have said he won't be appearing so I'm wondering what they're not telling us! It could be like you say Luc and he'll be cgi.......or maybe he makes a cameo appearance?

I can't see it being a cameo simply because I think he has gotten too old now and I think he's more interested in his political career at the moment....I also think it would be better having it CGI that way they can have his image wherever they want and how many they want..maybe some partially constructed and still robot like

I was just thinking I hope this Marcus character isn't the future son of John Connor sent back in time by an older John Connor or something

In a way I hope they try and not be over clever with the plots and lets just have a future war film...it really would be much better
