Summer tunes

What are your favourite summery tunes? I tend to listen to stuff like the Beach Boys, Bob Marley, New Order and all sorts of more upbeat stuff ( I have a varied and interesting taste in music, or so I like to think).
Catnapper

Whenever I hear these songs I always feel summery.....

California Girls and I Get Around....The Beach Boys
Have a Nice Day.......Stereophonics
Summer in the City....The Lovin Spoonful
Sunny Afternoon.....The Kinks
Beautiful Day.....U2

and these 2 have a lazy, hazy summer vibe!

I'm Feelin Good......Nina Simone(??)
At the River....Groove Armada (yes, the one from the M&S ads!)

There are loads of others too!
Emperor Morphetine

A nice mix there.
Lucifer_666

I find its songs I usually played on previous Summers that now remind me of that time of year even if they don't have anything to do with the heat ...I usually cruised the streets playing these during summers years ago ... others where just memories as a kid....

The Heat is on

Wake up Boo (Boo Radleys)

Summer in the City

Papa Don't Preach (embarrassingly it does remind of summer     )

St Elmos Fire (I feel a sing along coming about)

Growing up
you don't see the writing on the wall
Passing By
Moving straight ahead.....erm.....oh just check it out

You broke the boy in me ......BUT YOU WON'T BREAK THE MAN!! (Ahhh you just don't get lyrics like that anymore)

All I need is a pair of wheels and I can feel it burning in me too

Kyrie - Mr Mister

Another great!!
Kyrie Eleison
Down the road that I must travel
Kyrie Eleison
Through the darkness of the night
Kyrie Eleison
Where I'm going will you follow
Kyrie Eleison
On a highway in the light........ahhhhhhhh

Africa - Toto

"Hurry boy, shes waiting there for you"

Old Town - Phil Lynnot

Out In the Fields - Phil Lynott and Gary Moore

Easily my favourite Thin Lizzy song and many a night I cruised when I was younger with this on the radio

"Death is just a heartbeat away" lol sounds kind of morbid now but at the time I thought it cool...eh I still do in a way

Woman in Chains - Tears for Fears

Head over Heals - Tears for Fears
(this is the great sequence  from Donnie Darko)

Catnapper

Some good songs there Luc...and some I've never heard of!
Lucifer_666

Thanks babe.. .. Oh which ones had you not heard of before??

Catnapper

A couple of the Tears for Fears hits, 2 Thin Lizzy and that Kyrie one!
Lucifer_666

You didn't know Kyrie???      I'm shocked and a little appauled at you
Catnapper

Nope....I even played the video clip and I'm still no wiser!
Lucifer_666

Oh well...I have lots to show you
Catnapper

I hope you mean music Luc
Lucifer_666

 We'll see
Emperor Morphetine

Lately I've found myself listening to a lot of classic British heavy metal- Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple etc. And today I've been and bought Cheap Trick's 'best of'.
Lucifer_666

Nothing wrong with that man...good bands there
Catnapper

Yeah excellent bands   But have you seen those ads on tv for the country album Robert Plant did with Alison Krauss   .......that's just so wrong!
Lucifer_666

no I haven't seen the ads Cat but it definitely doesn't seem right
Catnapper

The album's called Raising Cain if you want to buy it Luc   Wonder if they'll do a follow up album with Alison Krauss singing heavy metal?!
Emperor Morphetine

I'd like to see her tackle 'Iron Man' or 'Highway Star' and that sort of thing! Could be funny. Perhaps Mr Plant will help her do 'Heartbreaker' or 'The Immigrant Song' as well.
Lucifer_666

I think I qwill give it a miss thanks
Catnapper

Oh I only read this morning that The Immigrant Song features on the new Steven Seagal film Guitar Man!
