Stretch Armstrong Film"Bruce Almighty" scribe Steve Oedekerk is set to pen the superhero comedy "Stretch Armstrong" for Universal Pictures reports Variety.
The toy, a 13-inch, blond-haired muscled figure whose limbs could be stretched to nearly four feet, was launched by Kenner in the '70s.
Disney tried to make the film back in 1998 with Danny DeVito and later Jackie Chan (  I don't recall them planning that ..was DeVito going to play Armstrong  )
Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir will produce the new film which joins the likes of other Hasbro properties like Monopoly, Candyland and Ouija being developed at Universal.
I remember having this toy as a kid but he definitely looked different years ago to what the toy looks like now.  . Anyway I just don't see where the film is in it.. surely its just another Plastic Man which is already in the planning stage... then again I don't see the Monopoly movie making that much sense either??

Danny De Vito as Stretch Armstrong is (excuse the pun!) stretching imagination too far I can see someone like Jim Carrey playing the role!

 yeah its a big stretch isn't it. ..as for Carrey I suppose he has the rubber face already doesn't he the only thing is Stretch Armstrong is blonde, tanned and muscular.. .I even think Carrey is a bit out there for the role
