Stella Street- The Movie

Anyone else see this? It was on in the early hours of Sunday morning and I found it quite funny! Basically its a feature length spinoff of a sitcom which featured impressionists like Phil Cornwell and John Sessions as a host of celebrities who move to a corner of Surbiton which becomes known as 'Stella Street'- Jack Nicholson, Michael Caine, Mick Jagger plus a host of others move in alongside bemused residents Mrs Huggett and Len.

Its quite surreal at times but rather funny with it, most of the impressions are spot on and its incredibly satirical on the nature of celebrity.

I've only caught a few minutes here and there of the actual tv series. It seemed pretty funny but there were usually other things I wanted to watch or record at the same time! But I never saw the film advertised and didn't know they'd make a film either

I've never seen it but it sounds very good I must watch out for it now...what channel does it be on?

It's a class programme! The film came out about 3 years ago, it was shown on BBC 2 a week after it came out on DVD, so the people who brought it straight away felt like they had been ripped off. I have the first 3 series on video, and they crack me up each time I watch them. I love the part where Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman, Michael Caine and Jimmy Hill are sitting around and discussing the finer points of Eastenders.

I loved what I saw of the original series and this was just as good- I find it hilarious that Mick Jagger & Keith Richards were running the corner shop, and that Jimmy Hill was shown as a sad old loner!
