Columbia and Sony Studios have bagged the film rights to the original 1958 Belgian comic book of the Smurfs and plan to make a Smurf movie! It'll be a combination of live action and animation and Columbia President Doug Belgrad said "We're very excited to introduce a new generation to Papa Smurf and the other Smurfs in all of their glory."

Ah but....is that the same film, cause I'm talking about a Columbia/Sony one that's live action/animation and you've said about an animated one by Paramount?!

I searched the forum first cause I had a feeling there was something about a Smurf movie mentioned before........but I couldn't find anything! I never thought of looking in the Animated Section with it being a live action/animated film
