Simply Red Splitting UpSimply Red are to split up in 2009, a quarter of a century after they formed, lead singer Mick Hucknall has revealed.
The 47-year-old said Stay, released last March, would be the group's final studio album, and they would disband after their tour in two years' time.
"I've kind of decided that the 25 years is going to be enough," Hucknall told the Gold radio network.
The star said he wanted to concentrate more on his solo career, having just completed an album of his own.
Sure for God's sake HE WAS Simply Red I always thought....can't see there being much difference

As you can tell I HAAAAAAAAATE them!!! My worst group ever, make me feel sick! I can't stay in a room if they're on, or if they're on telly I would have to turn it over straight away. The only other person to come close is Rick Astley - ARGH!!

I liked some of their songs its Mick Hucknail in fairness I could never have...... he always had that idea that he was great and kind of reminds me of Daniel Bedingfield today who I can't have either.
I did like though 'Money's Too Tight to Mention' and 'Stars' too
I laughed recently however at the Family Guy Star Wars special and you know the scene in SW where all the X Wing Fighters are in space and their calling out their callsigns...... "Red Two standing by,....Red Five standing by,......Red Three standing by......and of course the Family Guy crowd take the mickey out of this by adding loads of different Red things......we see a submarine in Space and hear Sean Connery say Red October standing by and then we see Mick Hucknail with his guys and him replying Simply Red standing by

Its a piss take mate but you can tell its done from people who genuinely love the Star Wars films...they got permission from Lucas aswell but they had to tone down the incest jokes apparently
