Shabba!!I wonder if I could be so bold as to establish myself as a resident DJ and post some super LP's or 45's so as to keep y'all entertained whilst you 'flick'. Here's a sample, starting with a rare moment of tenderness from Charles Manson:

Watch this video in its entireity and then give advice on how not to be sick. This is a genuine song that I actually used to like when I was about 14

Finally for tonight... do you remember Band Aid's 'Do They Know it's Christmas'? What about USA for Africa's 'We are the World'?
Well, do you remember Hear 'n' Aid'? This was 1985s heavy metal response to the African famine. The song was called 'Stars' and here it is in its entireity.
WARNING: the hair in this video is big and the guitar solo started in 1985 and is due to finish next Tuesday week... enjoy

I will listen to these tonight bud and give you the run down and the low down of my opinion of the new dj in town (I know you all can't see me but I am making those cool gestures you see rap artists do.....badly!!)

I actually really like that Charles Manson song ...yes I can be a sentimental devil at times too I guess the honesty can be too much for me aswell
So thats what the Prodigy used to look like very funny!!!
As for liking that song buddy....being 14 was no excuse
It does remind me of this old song I liked as a teen but of course....I had developed taste back then bud I'm just kidding mate the song aint that bad . .well okay it is...but everyone to their own
Don't you just love the old guitar solos I never heard this charity song before either Actually their voices are fantastic and the verses where each sing is class I think but I think the chorus sort of lets it down ....well for me anyway
Not bad bud I take my guitar out and play a little solo in your honour
but it really is time for some eighties stuff
Okay I'm going to play two from the same band.Level 42..I actualy have the laserdisc and it always takes me back even though the videos are kind of embarrassing now
in the first one they look gay
and here I go again getting all sentimental....always reminds me of past break ups.. ..I think I got some dirt in my eye
and here's another song and just to clarify this one does not remind me of past love as the name of the track is 'Shake the Disease' from the mighty Depeche Mode

I've only heard the 2nd Level 42 song before .......keep posting the vids guys cause it's good listening to all these songs

Your like one of those dancers that go on stage that gets the rest of the crowd going Cat?

I'm just about to retire to bed so I thought I'd post a beautiful song for y'all. Sigur Ros are an amazing band and this song is incredibly uplifting for me. For it to be used for Planet Earth was a stroke of genius. Watching this humbles me and fills me with awe.

Nice one. ..
Here's a song that Gene Wilder made famous from the Classic Willy Wonka movie...its a remixed version from Lou Rawls
I think its very good and the video is too
|
JohnG
|
Great song and vid I loved Gene Wilder in that film, and that song is a real uplifting moment. The Tim Burton Version was pretty good as was Johnny Depp but it doesn't hold a candle to the original.
Nice one

Excellent Luc .....even though I had to have the volume turned down low!
Who's the guy miming in the vid....he's very good

Thanks bud....I love Gene Wilder's version too and Willy Wonka is one of my all time favourite films...I watch it every christmas no matter what I also agree with what you say about the Tim Burton remake

I honestly don't know babe who he is or who really did the remix...its very good though

Yes DJ Lucifer is in the building and time to fill your world with tunes to touch the soul....
I just thought this was interesting and I know this is used to kind of embarrass him today but I think it actually sounds quite good...in that old 80's way ....its a young Ricky Gervais with his band Seona Dancing and 'Bitter Heart'..its only a tidbit not the entire song but I'll start with this
Next up is the great female rock band 'Heart'.....and she would have no problem getting me ....'Alone' and this is it....
The following song is called....'All the things she said' ...NOOOOOOOoooo!! not that Russian Lesbian Duo no this was much better as I was also a big Simple Minds fan too and I used to listen to this particular song constantly...I think my family were sick of it
by the end (I could pick others on their albums but perhaps another time) oh and the video is atrocious..so beware.. ..I
don't know what they were thinking there
And now we have Tracy Chapman and 'Talkin about a Revolution'...I could have added a load from her 80's album but seeing as some of the others I added were kind of sentimental I thought this would be better....great song though too!!!
I'm going to sneak some Spandau Ballet on my session here too ...this is 'Through The Barricades' (about 2.55 is the
beginning of the best part of the song )
Ojay I know I'm putting my hard masculine image at risk here but I have to confess to having the weirdest and diverse tastes in music and yes I used to love Tori Amos..I actually got my sisters into her first album aswell... and here was one of my favourites ....'Winter'
Here is another ..the truth is like Tracy Chapman's album you could play any song from it ...this is 'Silent all these years'
Next up is a change of pace people ...its the cool White Stripes and 7 Nation Army.... I want to beat on Meg's drums
and 'Blue Orchid'..... I love the video of this ....Meg always reminds of a girl I had a crush on years ago especially in this vid for some odd reason
Now for my last song and I think I'll play out with.... Miss Cyndi Lauper and 'Time After Time'....Enjoy!!!
|
Catnapper
|
I'll have a listen to them tonight Luc ........but not to Time After Time cause I hate that song!
|
Lucifer_666
|
I just threw it on at the end there babe....but check out the rest

Heart? Alone? You are to be commended, sir. A fine choice.
Here's a tune from me (before I go to bed).
I chose this because of the lines: "Sex fuhrer baby I'm the love dictator" and "I'm Christ in shades, I'm a napalm God".
Here is Zodiac Mindwarp & the Love Reaction with 'Prime Mover'...

Well I'm glad you liked one of my tunes bud....
As for Prime Mover...definitely a demonic and devilish feel to the vid...which I can't really fault

I'm Baaaaackkkk Yes DJ Lucifer is in the room!!
Okay first off.....I was a very big REM fan before 'Out of Time' really launched them massively so I think they will be my first choice here
this is one of my favourites of their latest stuff ...its THE GREAT BEYOND
here's another and its an old one,,,,actualy one of their best but least known by non REM fans...Its Perfect Circle
and to finish off my REM triple for today...its one that you just have to get up and dance to when you hear it... well it was many years ago ....Oh and I used to be able to sing all the lyrics off by heart for the second verse of this song and had a good go at the first ...hey its a feat!!! check out the words in the vid .....its The End of the World as we Know it (and I feel Fine)
Next up is ABC...I always liked this band in the 80's and so many great tracks,,but here's a less known one but still a goodie ...this is... All of my Heart
I really use to love this song aswell....its feels like heaven by fiction factory
This is Alphaville and their hit Big In Japan...didn't the lead singer look like an oriental version of the guy from AHA
the song also reminds me of the end song in Teenwolf..you know the 'Win in the End' one?
Okay its Gladys Knight and "License To Kill" next and I went to see this film purely on the strength of this music video as I not only liked the song but also the two leading ladies aswell ...the film turned out to be one of the best bonds in my opinion too
Here's one I thought might interest some ...remember the Bond movie 'Tomorrow Never Dies' and Sheryl Crow did the theme and for me a kind of medicore one too.... well KD Lang also was in the running for it with this and it is much much better I always thought..it was the best Bond theme that never happened ....though it does play at the end of the film...and unbelieveably is the background music alot through the movie itself...I guess she just wasn't big enough like Sheryl Crow was at that time. ...here is a vid with the opening credits
And finally to finish my set off .....its the great Tom Petty and Free Falling
