Here's my reviews for both Death Proof and Planet Terror...
Death Proof is Tarrantino's effort starring Kurt Russell as a deranged stuntman stalking young women in his 'Death Proof' car. Both films have been made grainy with a distinct 70's Grindhouse feel to them. This one started off a little slow for me with a bit too much inane banter (Tarrantino is usually the master of dialogue for me, but there was a little too much in the first half). The second half was right on the money with the right balance of humour and action. Zoe Bell who is a real life stunt woman has a great role playing herself (there was no WITH in that sentence boys!) and Tarrantino, Rose McGowen and Eli Roth have smaller parts too.
Planet Terror is Robert Rodriguez's starring Rose McGowen, Freddy Rodriguez, Michael Biehn (Hicks from Aliens - doesn't get enough roles imo!), Josh Brolin (looking more like his dad than ever), the great Tom Savini and Tarrantino (of course). I consider this the better of the two films. It's a zombie action flick with loads of cheese and totally honest with itself. The characters are hugely over the top, as is the plot and the action, but it works wonderfully, even down to the machine gun leg :D
Overall 9/10 for Planet Terror and 7/10 for Death Proof.

Planet Terror is brill They could have played it like a spoof but it comes across as a typical 50s sci fi film which I love! Even the scratchy bits and the missing reel work well too......great film
