Pink Floyd

BBC Four's been showing a few interesting programmes on Pink Floyd lately- I saw a repeat of an 'Omnibus' programme from a few years ago on Syd Barrett ( the band's first frontman who abused drugs and then became a recluse until his death at 60) and 'Which One's Pink? The Pink Floyd Story' which was a sort of history of the group going from the sixties right up until their appearance at Live 8.

It was quite interesting- I like most of their stuff, from the early Syd Barrett era stuff like 'Astronomy Domine' to the ones everyone knows like ' Another Brick In The Wall'. They managed to interview the surviving group members and people who worked with them and got them to talk about their days in the group, how they started etc which I liked because I'm a sucker for these sorts of shows!

Then as a bonus treat they showed the edition of 'Classic Albums' devoted to 'Dark Side Of The Moon' which was brilliant, as its probably their best studio record.

Perhaps its your box going funny Luc, my Freeview does at times.

I know babe....I'm starting to think I'm giving out some kind of magnetic interference or something    well I was always magnetically attractive to the ladies so maybe it operates for electrical boxes too

I don't know Morphy............ I don't know if any of you know anything about the freeview digital but after much research a while back I have discovered that there is different 'Muxes' which basically hold different channels for example Mux A could hold BBC 1, 2, and 3 but then Mux B could hold BBC News 24, ITV and Virgin 1 now the Mux that held BBC 4 also held BBC Parliament and for months I couldn't recieve either channel but then for about a week it started coming in only for it to be pulled from under me and taken away again    Damned Muxes!!!!!!!!

I bet I have confused you all now
Catnapper

I've only just got the hang of recording progs on freeview so don't get me confused again Luc   What on earth is a Mux?!!
Jipdog

It means Multiplex, Cat. Just like a cinema has over 8 screens to be called a Multiplex, each Multiplex on Freeview has x ammount of channels. Different companies oen different Multiplexies. It can get a bit complicated as some companies broadcast on a different companies Multiplex rather than there own. If you have a bit of search on the net then you will be able to find information about it which will hopefully make it less confusing.

Thanks JD   that makes things more clearer!
