Old Gamers

Anyone catch the news last night and see the Old people's home that borrowed a Nintendo Wii?? I t was mean't to only be there for a couple of days but the old people got so into it they have kept it now for months and they all love playing games like tennis on it

I thought this was great...it also shows that videogames can be for anyone and all ages young and old!!
Catnapper

I never saw that Luc Good on them It makes a change from them playing dominoes and singing wartime songs!

It goes to show that you're never too old......
Lucifer_666

Yep they showed this old lady Cat and also interviewed her and she looked like she was really getting into it....she was playing tennis....it was funny but great to see
Catnapper

It'll be better for them than just sitting around doing nothing and vegetating......maybe all old folks homes should be fitted with computers and games consoles by law.
Lucifer_666

I second that motion babe .......and then they will release new stats that old people are getting more violent
Catnapper

It was in the paper today about the old folk playing videogames.......apparently they're all very competitive and they've started up leagues!
Lucifer_666

I really do think its great to see....it just shows how diverse games like this are
Catnapper

It said in the article that one 103 woman has thrown away her knitting and she's playing games and a 88 year old man says he's hooked on it!
Lucifer_666

Good on them!! Sure why not thats what I say!!! It also helps keep the mind active too
The Man Chump

I read this in the sun today, I bet they could beat me on the Wii, has anyone else got one. I love mine!
Lucifer_666

No mate but I'm seriously thinking of one for Xmas ...my little nephew who loves videogames too may be getting one too

Is it as much fun as it looks Chump?
The Man Chump

As you guys know I do a lot of stuff at the local church and for a youht club, I ttok the Wii down last night and had the nippers boxing each other and Bowling. Top notch fun, The parents wanted a go as well!

It's good because you can play it for 10 minutes or two hours, if you have the right games!

Great piece of kit for the money!
Lucifer_666

Yep mate it definitely sounds the business....I'm even more convinced in getting one now
The Man Chump

You should! I'm not able to afford any new games at present, but Wii sports and Wii play will do for the moment!
Lucifer_666

Will do bud
ColonelK

I saw those old people on TV, playing their Wii.

My boss didn't know if I was having a laugh when I came in the day after and asked him if he saw the old people Wii-ing on TV last night.

I got a Wii recently, and am currently developing Mario-related RSI. But it's worth it.
Lucifer_666

Why did I not think of that Wii...ing joke?? I think I'm losing my touch

Hi Colonel K
Mario-related RSI??? Whats that?? Is that for creating your own game or levels or something????
ColonelK

LOL! no, it's Repetitive Strain Injury, caused by overplaying.

According to the saved game, I've spent 12 hours playing Super Paper Mario over the last week.
Lucifer_666

Doh!!!! You know I looked that up Colonel K and Repetitive Strain Injury came up but I thought to myself ....oh it must be something game related or game programming related

Well moving swiftly on.... I'm glad its worth it
ColonelK

Speaking of Wiis, has anyone bought of the Virtual Console games?
Lucifer_666

Oh this is the thing that lets the wii play older Nintendo games isn't it?.... I wonder can you play the N64's Goldeneye...I actually still have that game and console somewhere....... I loved that game!!
