Mr. Magorium's Wonder EmporiumI think this looks the business too just before Christmas and may end up being the best Xmassy type of movie out this year....I haven't really heard that much about it before and it just seems to have creeped up on me but it definitely looks like a film I want to see now. It stars Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman
Molly Mahoney (Portman) is the awkward and insecure manager of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, the strangest, most fantastic, most wonderful toy store in the world. But when Mr. Magorium, the 243 year-old eccentric who owns the store (Hoffman), bequeaths the store to her, a dark and ominous change begins to take over the once remarkable Emporium.
Jason Bateman plays a hired stuffy accountant (whom Magorium immediately dubs Mutant) to determine what his store is worth

Must admit I fancy this as a Christmas film. A bit Willy Wonka. I used to love Jason Bateman when I was a teenager too (no I don't fancy everyone, it just seems like it - lol )

I was actually reading an interview in a mag the other day where Dustin Hoffman was talking about the film........but I think I've recycled the magazine! I'll have a look later on!
From what I can remember, Dustin Hoffman was saying they wanted him to wear makeup to make him look older but he didn't want to cause he wanted Mr Magorium to have a timeless quality.
I've been wanting to go and see it since I first read about it a few months ago

Funny I was just about to say Honey ....not another person you fancy?
It does seem to have a distinctive role in what films you consider good or not
All messing aside your right it does have a Willy Wonka feel to it alright..which appeals to me too..
You recycled the mag thats those environmetal policies for you Cat ...what a nuisance ....I think Hoffman was right too ...there was no real need to have him too old...and you heard about this months ago? It kind of came out of the blue at me...I think I did hear about it but it didn't really excite or interest me until I seen the trailer
