Morris: A Life With Bells On

This is another quirky British film......this time, it's all about Morris Dancing   You can see the trailer on the film's website where there's also a petition to try and get the film distributed in the UK and America. It has a good cast including Derek Jacobi, Greg Wise, Harriet Walter.......and Fern Britton's brother, Jasper!

it looks good...though you know what went straight into my head... Strictly Ballroom..i do think that film was the template for this one ....hopefully it gets picked up now and gets some success

There was talk a few weeks ago of Morris Dancing being phased out.....youngsters don't want to take it up, so this film could give it street cred

'Morris dancing' and 'street cred'? Chalk and cheese methinks.......
Lucifer_666

i have visions of tough gang guys prancing about with bells and ribbons

Get rappers promoting morris dancing instead of guns and violence   Maybe Eminem's next single will be about Morris, not Stan
Emperor Morphetine

Somehow I can't see morris dancing catching on no matter who promotes it- can't think of any actors, musicians etc whod be willing to endorse it under the age of about 70!

oh have a little faith bud,..can you not see all these rap artists prancing about in funny gear with ribbons

though Elton John might promote it after all their gear would probably suit his wardrobe

You never know, the film could get a distributor, be a massive hit both here and in America.....and soon everyone will be morris dancing
Emperor Morphetine

Perhaps its the start of a new celebrity fad- a sort of 'Come Dancing' spinoff so they can rejuvenate their careers!
Lucifer_666

oh god lets not give them ideas here in the UK...Tht will be the next dancing show
Catnapper

Good idea Luc!

Morris is quietly becoming a hit.......because it hasn't got a distributor yet, it's been showing in village halls where people have been queueing up to watch it! The writer and star of the film appeared at one village hall the other day! I think it has a chance of being a big hit (if they get a distributor)......it's a quirky English film that should appeal to Americans and other countries who see us as quaint (and eccentric)   It's a feel good film too which we all need in these doom and gloom times.

it does sound like a fun film....its a wonder that it hasn't been picked up yet
