Michael Jackson dies at 50'King Of Pop' Michael Jackson died after going into cardiac arrest last night at the age of 50. While I suspect fans around the globe are saddened I could almost see it coming really- apparently he hadn't really been well for quite some time, but I don't think anybody thought his life was in danger. At least he leaves a decent musical legacy, even if personally he was a very strange man..........

As you say, this was not surprising. I think Michael Jackson was an extremely troubled and possibly abused person. Years of emotional problems must surely have taken its toll physically, and that is what I think happened. He won't be forgotten though.

you beat me to this post bud. ....and when i seen this i was automatically going to move it to the 'Deaths' area but i won't ....its such a notable death its probably right here where people have easy access
Anyway i was watching 'This Week' last night and near the end Andrew O Neill said about Jackson Dying ...i immediately switched to the news channel and i admit i was shocked...i know he wasn't well but i never dreamed he was that bad ....i do feel sad.....a musical legend is dead
RIP MICHAEL

Well, it certainly seems he's always had a fairly large global following, I would hope his fans will afford his family some privacy though. Apparently there was a rumour that a trbute of some kind is being planned at Glastonbury, and Radio 2 is broadcasting a special programme tonight from 7pm to mark his passing.

Lucifer_666
it appears every channel on telly and every event has some kind of special about him ...i've already caught three specials (docus) on him ...its just an awful shame...i wonder had he been given too many pain killers???
Catnapper
I wasn't surprised by his death....it seemed almost inevitable because he was so fragile. What did shock me though was his father's reaction.....he was laughing and joking
K
Laughing and joking?? Was he in shock or something
Emperor Morphetine
You would hope so, I imagine he would be- especially as his years of abusing his children may have been a contributing factor somehow.

still can't believe he's gone , i loved his music he was the most talented pop singer out there , and that is why he was know as the king of pop , no one will ever be as good , RIP mikey .

I think that to an extent he believed his own hype, but I also reckon that his army of hangers-on are to blame in all this, letting him follow the path of prescription drug abuse until it was too late.
Lucifer_666
unfortunately i agree that he believed in his own hype ...so much so that he surrounded himself with yes men..people too afraid or unconcerned to say anything to him..... Madonna is the same with her entourage i think....of only he had people to keep him grounded
As for his dad...its a strange one.....could be shock but then again he had a rough relationship with him didn't he

the stuff they found in his house is only given to the terminally ill, whats it called oxycodin . i think he knew he was gonna die , set up the tour , made the publicty stunt , then kicked the bucket now we all love him again . i his music is selling like it used to

Emperor Morphetine
Apparently hiss doctor's being questioned- whether its as a witness or suspect I've no idea but I have an inkling that all is not what it seems.
Lucifer_666
yep it does seem very suspect i agree with you both there

Apparently custody of his kids has now been awarded to his mother, although his ex-wife ( who's mum to the first two) is apparently planning to challenge that ruling. It all points to a massive web of intrigue and I don't think we've heard the last of this, although if what's being reported his true his parents are only after his cash- apparently his mother got in touch with his children's nanny to ask where he stashed his money within hours of his death which is terribly ghoulish to me- surely family ties should take precedence over greed?
And already the conspiracy theories are spreading like wild fire, my favourites being that he actually fled the hospital dressed as a nun to escape to a new life and the other which says that he's hiding in a bunker with Elvis!
Lucifer_666
perhaps the mother thought every cleaner would be in cleaning him out..literally ...it is though a very suspect thing for his mother to be thinking about after her son's sudden death
As for his dad he is now out using his son's death to advertise his new company definitely no love lost there..i think michael wrote him out of his will
i have visions now of michael in a convent as a bride of christ

I can't understand his father plugging his own business venture the way he has....it's as though he wants to be the centre of attention now Michael's gone
Emperor Morphetine
Apparently his dad was always a bit of a tyrant- and now I hear that his sister LaToya was apparently looking for Jacko's cash, allegedly to stop crazed fans and suchlike getting hold of it....bit fishy methinks. And the creditors are already circling Neverland with a view to turning it into a theme park. Which on the face of it sounds daft but having thought about it it might prove a shrewd bit of business as I suspect people would want to visit and it certainly seems in line with Michael's thinking even if it was all used for nefarious and as yet unproven deeds!

this is all too strange this is no right none of it .
Emperor Morphetine
It seems there's a new twist every day- now they're on about having both a public and private funeral for him as well as staging either a one-off or extended series of tribute gigs featuring his family.....and distributing 'souvenir' tickets to every fan who's had to be refunded for his London comeback shows. It's all getting weirder by the minute.
Catnapper
It was never going to be a plain, straight forward type of funeral! He'll lie in state in a glass coffin apparently.......I always expect the body to come alive!
Lucifer_666
yep come to life to the thriller song
i wonder will he be wearing his glove too i always think of escape artists or magicians when i see a glass coffin
Emperor Morphetine
There was talk that Gunter Von Hagens was going to preserve the body and contort it into his trademark 'moonwalk' pose so that he could be reunited with Bubbles the chimp- who Von Hagens also got his hands on!
Lucifer_666
that would be just sick wouldn't it though he wouldn't have much work to do on him considering he was already mainly plastic as he was
Catnapper
That would be totally creepy as well as scary I see the funeral arrangements have been altered again and he won't lie in state at Neverlands. There's also talk he had a secret girlfriend!
Lucifer_666
A secret girlfriend really? hmmm i thought he kept away from that kind of thing
Catnapper
That's what his former bodyguard's been saying......mind you, that's the bodyguard who lured the Jacksons over to spend time in a house in Devon for a reality tv show I still think that was a weird thing to do!
Lucifer_666
yeah strange alright .........he did seem to always have some bad people around him
Catnapper
I read people have bought tickets to the funeral and are selling them for thousands on websites. They're still after making money from him even now he's dead.
Lucifer_666
i still can't believe there is tickets for a funeral one thing is for sure every cent will be squeezed from his estate

watched the memorial last night , very moving ,

It must have been difficult for the performers to sing but they all did a good job. I bet it was strange singing with his coffin just yards away.
What do you think about his daughter being on stage? The press are making a fuss saying she shouldn't have been allowed on stage, but if she wanted to say a few words then I think it's ok. I know there's the whole security issue....Michael tried to shield his kids from the public.
Lucifer_666
hmmm yeah it was a moving .......yet a strange event too i felt
did you hear that MJ has apparently albums of unheard tracks which will be top sellers now once released
big aundy
yeah cat if is daughter wished to speak then yes she should be allowed without all t his fuss , after all she has lost her father ,
not heard about all this new stuff but i bet he was working on loads of new material hope some does get to number 1 .
Catnapper
It said in the paper that after hearing her uncle sing Smile, she asked to say a few words.....she was brave in front of all those people.
I'm sure his new material will hit number 1 and I wouldn't be surprised if his brothers do some songs with Shaheen too!
Lucifer_666
Yep apparently there is loads of unheard stuff previously recorded and there is very little doubt they will sell now big time
You know you could also be right about Shaheen aswell...I was surprised that he performed there
Catnapper
Shaheen's hot property in the US now...all the big name hosts want him on their shows and he's signed for the same company that handles stars like Brad Pitt! I'm just thankful Jacko didn't invite Susan Boyle to perform at the O2 concerts and she ended up singing at the memorial concert....goodness knows what might have happened cause she's unpredictable!
Lucifer_666
funny as it sounds he probably could have related to miss boyle more than anyone.... as both were seen as freaks
Emperor Morphetine
Was there as much coverage here as there was in the States? You couldn't change channel in Florida without hearing about MJ at least once!
Lucifer_666
WELCOME BACK BUD Have a good time?
yep it was the same here too bud...MJ's death was all we heard too...though it probasbly was worse in the states
Emperor Morphetine
Well, MTV USA showed the memorial live and then almost every news channel had at least one or two stories a night afterwards on the subject- the latest one being that his dermatologist may have been the actual father of his two eldest children....its mad.

In regards to Michael's unreleased songs, most acts have stacks of tracks that never see the light of day. Prince has thousands of songs in a vault that he has no intention of releasing (and spent millions on videos for them), and Aerosmith normally record about 40 per album recording (for Nine Lives, they had recorded 74 songs and only 14 made it onto the cd). Queen have a mass unreleased back catalogue, including a song with Michael Jackson, which was supposed to have been released on Greatest Hits III. Would be interesting to see if that now see's the light of day.
Emperor Morphetine
Wouldn't surprise me at all if it were to be released now!
Lucifer_666
Queen and Jacko ...i wouldn't mind hearing that myself
Emperor Morphetine
It's certainly potentially an interesting collaboration across genres.
Catnapper
I'd never have thought of Queen and MJ collaborating on a song but I thought the same about Paul McCartney and MJ....and I loved the songs they did together!
Emperor Morphetine
Never heard those......
Lucifer_666
you never heard Say, Say, Say...it was a number one hit for Jackson and McCartney in the 80's ...its a good song check it out
Catnapper
You'll know them Morphy They did 2 together as far as I know......Say Say Say and The Girl Is Mine.
Lucifer_666
I had to look up....The Girl Is Mine. but i do remember it aswell trhough i prefer Say Say Say
Emperor Morphetine

Come to think of it they do ring a bell.
