Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games (Wii)

A friend of mine owns a Nintendo Wii and has just got hold of a copy of this, and its strangely addictive! Basically its an attempt to promote the forthcoming Beijing Olympics with a difference, as Mario and friends compete against Sonic the Hedgehog and his team in a variety of different events. You can pick from various different sporting choices- from athletics (100m hurdles, long jump etc), gymnastics (trampolining) and aquatics (swimming).

It takes a bit of getting used to but once you twig the controls ( basically you use the Wii remote to move the character, jump etc depending on event, with the additional nunchuk needed for some sports) its quite good fun as a multiplayer contest. By the time you finish playing you'll feel a difference as it really helps with fitness if you keep on playing again and again! And its a neat twist on a classic sporting event.

They're good actually, and you can get 'Wii Sports' with it as a package deal ( that's what you were probably playing).

Most of the sports games for it are brilliant, just the right sort of thing given its capabilities.
