Low level flight scares New YorkersWhat was the US government thinking? Apparently Air Force One and a fighter plane were flying low over New York showing off or something, and obviously the people of New York panicked and evacuated their offices.
You'd think the government would have a better memory. Of all cities to fly low over, they had to choose New York not even 8 years after 9/11! What short memories.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the footage....what a stupid and insensitive thing to do  Apparently, it was some kind of publicity stunt to show Air Force One flying over well known landmarks and the President didn't know anything about it...and neither did the Mayor of New York! I suppose it was an idea that sounded good at the time but someone obviously didn't think of the outcome.....New Yorkers fleeing in panic at a suspected terrorist attack.

It does seem a very silly thing to do given that the US is probably on of the most fearful governments in terms of terror threats.

Crazy  ...i would have thought that any low flights on a city particularly New York would have to have got serious military clearance?

Now it seems the NYPD knew about it but didn't say anything because of security fears!

I haven't heard about it Luc but I can well imagine someone having a quiet word with the person who sanctioned the flight!
