Lost Boys 2: The Tribe

Okay I think this has to be one sequel I am genuinely concerned about... even if it had a huge budget a great Director and a load of the original cast back I would still be hesitant that it could bring any kind of the old magic that made The Lost Boys such a great flick but the fact that I know none of these are the case now.. .At first the film had signed up Corey Haim which was a condition of Corey Fieldman's involvement...then it was later announced that Haim pulled out leaving it effectively Fieldman's film...yes Jamison Newlander also returns as the other Frog brother but thats all ...no Jami Gertz or Jason Patric or even Dianne Wiest??? It would make you wonder whats the point???? Why put the Lost Boys tag to it at all??

Oh and they have got in the half brother of Kiefer Sutherland..'Angus' to play the lead vampire too.....I never even heard of the guy before but it is obviously an attempt to surge some connection with the Original film no matter how vague or remote

Plot:
The sequel to the 1987 cult hit The Lost Boys takes us to the shady surf city of Luna Bay, California, where vampires quickly dispatch anyone who crosses their path. Into this dark world arrive Chris Emerson (Hilgenbrink) and his younger sister, Nicole (Reeser). Having just lost their parents in a car accident, the siblings move in with their eccentric Aunt Jillian and become new prey for the locals way of life. When Nicole unwittingly falls for a local vampire, Chris must locate and destroy the gangs lifeline before his sisters transformation is complete; to do this Chris finds himself relying on the expertise of none other than Edgar Frog (Feldman). Subtle references to characters from the original film, and cameos from returning actors offer homage to the Lost Boys legend and set a sinister tone of impending doom.

Its set for release in 2008 .........Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire. Lets hope so in this sequel but I seriously doubt it

How strange...I only got the vid of Lost Boys today!

Yeah that's stretching it a bit having Kiefer's half brother in it......he won't exactly make people rush out and watch it

Have they brought a sequel out because it's 20 years since the original?
Lucifer_666

Really Babe?? I have the dvd ....but I used to have the video too years ago but my sister lent it to one of her college buddies and I never got it back Don't worry I've had years to get over the stress of it

I think they are taking out a sequel because its been threatened this long time and some people see money signs ...but it spells to me like a stright to dvd disaster...there was talk at one stage of a Lost Girls angle on the story but I wouldn't be entirely sure of that either...

Here's a recent interview with The Lost Boys 2 writer....

It actually looks pretty good Cat I like the idea that the brother and sister are Michael and Star's kids ...it does link it more to the original film.....they don't mention I noticed the other Frog brother?? I wonder is he no longer involved now? The just seem to talk about Corey Fieldman's role??

They are even talking about a third film now too
Catnapper

A third film...already?! I hope the 2nd one's a success then

The more I hear of it the more I'm starting to slightly warm to it....of course it won't be a patch on the original but it may be still alright apparently during the love scene they have music very like Cry Little Sister ..or a variation of it
Scorpio

it looks ok -

He was in, he was out, but its official Corey Haim is back vampire slaying in Warner Bros.' The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe.

There was reported news a few days ago of additional shooting (via Corey Feldman's blog) and now its revealed... All of the scenes excised from the script involving the Sam Emerson character are being re-introduced to the film.

Director P.J. Pesce is heading back behind the camera to lens the previously penned sequences (pre-strike) with Corey Haim playing Emerson. Feldman, as mentioned, will be involved and shooting is expected to begin very soon.

We're told this will not affect Warner Premiere's DVD release of "Lost Boys 2" and a summer debut is still in the cards.

Great!!!
big aundy
