LET THE RIGHT ONE IN

It has got alot of  critical acclaim and the few people who have seen it are raving about it ...
Its a swedish vampire film called 'Let the Right One In'

It tells the story of a bullied 12-year-old boy who develops a friendship with a female vampire in Blackeberg, a suburb to Stockholm.

its doing the rounds at the film festivals and has won a mountain of awards .....it has quite a dark subject matter with getting bloody revenge on bully kids ......Twilight it ain't

I've read about it too....I remember thinking if the title meant a vampire had to be invited into someone's house (like in Buffy!)

It does sound intriguing and I like the idea of bullies being taught a lesson but I'm guessing it's a very bloody and terminal lesson!

I don't know babe...perhaps or it could be something completely different
than the whole inviting a vampire inside....jt always reminds me of Salem's Lot

I was right about inviting vampires into your house

I came across an interview that John Ajvide Lindqvist (he's the writer of the book the film's adapted from) gave to a magazine. Apparently, he's a massive Smiths fan and "Let The Right One In" is derived from a Morrissey B-side and refers to "the little known fact that a vampire has to be welcomed over the threshold."........all Buffy fans knew that!

I actually knew that well before Buffy as I used to watch a lot of Vampire movies as a kid and then of course its a bigger feature in The Lost Boys movie aswell but fair dues to you for finding out that thats what he was referring to here...you were right babe

I could say I scoured the internet and pored over countless newspaper and magazine articles in my quest for the truth........but I was reading my usual mag and just spotted a small article about the film

I see it's won 4 more awards, including Best Foreign Film, in the Online Film Critics Society Awards in the US. It sounds very prestigious but I can't say as I've heard of those awards before!

You could have built up this whole fantastic internet researcher persona babe   instead of just admitting luck

the film does sound good doesn't it
