Jackson concert film in works?Rumour has it that plans are underway for the release of a Michael Jackson concert film based upon the rehearsals for his last ever tour. There is also speculation that his former home at the 'Neverland' ranch will be turned into a theme park or other tourist attraction to enable fans of the 'King of Pop' to take a look inside their idol's former retreat.
Is it me or are people being rather quick to exploit his legacy? I can understand rereleasing the back catalogue of his music as there's a guaranteed market for that and it makes good business sense, and the film idea could work although maybe it would have been a better idea to compile one when he was at the peak of his powers, but turning 'Neverland' into another 'Graceland' type attraction is surely a tad creepy?

Was Neverland sold to pay off his debts or did he still own it at the time of his death? If it's still in his name, then I suppose it's a good way to get money for his children and to make sure they're well provided for.
I can see a concert film being a big success......and people will be curious to see rehearsal footage. You're right about people being quick to cash in.......it always happens when a big star dies!

Neverland was apparently sold to pay off creditors, and it's now been announced that the concert film will be out some time in October- also Jermaine Jackson is rumoured to be planning another tribute concert for Michael in Vienna as well- why can't they just leave his legacy be and concentrate on helping his kids through what must be a tough time? I would hope that a percentage of the money raised goes towards them as you say.

Nope! It says in today's paper that the movie will be called 'This Is It' and directed by Kenny Ortega, who was helping Jacko with his creative touches on the tour and has previous cinematic experience having directed the ( godawful) 'High School Musical' films.
