Is this the the answer to cinema distractions?This is in today's Sun.......
"Film fans could soon enjoy movies without the noisy distractions of popcorn-crunching, drink slurping and sneezes. Audiences will be given wireless headphones under a new system called Silent Cinema. They will be able to hear a soundtrack without annoying noises.
The system will be tested this month at a Halloween screening of The Shining at a hotel in the City of London."
Could be a sign of things to come......quiet cinemas

Is it me or does that kind of defeat the purpose somewhat of going to the cinema in the first place?? Part of the fun of the cinema surely is not only a great picture but dynamic sound aswell...I'm also not the biggest fan of headphones either ....many find them uncomfortable...oh and what if your early to see a film ....watch the cinema seats fill up all around you until the whole place is full...then the movie starts and it is then that you realise that the earphones assigned to your seat don't work....Arrggghhhhhh 
It would be like watching a movie on a plane wouldn't it...I do think it would take away some of the magic babe

I can't see the headphones appearing in cinemas even if they prove popular at the trial run. I don't like headphones either Luc and when I read the article I thought of the safety aspect too......you wouldn't be able to hear anyone sneaking up behind you if there weren't many people in the cinema  But even if they had headphones in cinemas it wouldn't be a compulsory thing.....you'd have the option of not wearing them if you didn't want!
Looks like we'll still be stuck with noisy people in cinemas!

Great idea- it sounds like something we do at uni called the Silent Disco where you're given headphones and can pick what you want to listen to while enjoying a few pints at the bar!

What if some are dancing slowly to My Heart will go on while beside them you have people dancing and jigging to McFly or Busted?  that is the type of music you student kids listen to these days isn;t it??
